MARKHAM, ON, Hyundai Auto Canada today announced it had sold 7,739 units in November 2010, representing an increase of 10.2 percent over the same month last year and the 22nd consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. The Tucson and Elantra Touring vehicles in the Hyundai line-up showed strong sales in the market for the month, recording increases of 39.1 and 24.6 percent, respectively.

Year-to-date, Hyundai has sold 112,403 units, an increase of 14.6 percent over the first 11 months of 2009. Hyundai has sold 9,170 more units in 2010 than it did in all 12 months of 2009. "We're thrilled to have received a number of awards in November and we're equally happy about our continuing sales success," said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO, Hyundai Canada. "A critical aspect that helped us get to this position is a line-up of extremely strong products and highly visible new product launches. While the all-new Tucson and Sonata continue to perform well, we aren't stopping there as we recently unveiled the all-new 2011 Elantra. Set to arrive at Hyundai dealers across Canada before the end of the year, the Elantra will be competing with style, quality and value in the critical compact segment." Kelleher added that Hyundai also received four important trophies in November. The 2011 Elantra was recognized by the Automotive Leasing Guide for the highest predicted residual value in the competitive compact class. The all-new 2011 Sonata was also recognized by three influential publications, winning "Best Mid-size Sedan for 2011" from Auto123.com, a 10Best award from Car and Driver as well as a "Best Buy" award from Consumers Digest.
