I-69 Corridor

I attended a meeting tonight in St. Clair County and watched as the board of commissioners listened to citizens' well thought out testimony against the I-69 corridor project, and their concerns that the board was pushing this forward too quickly and without concern for the many problems that the contract contained.

I watched as only two of the commissioners talked of their concerns against this project and the questionable “contract” that could lead to problems. I applaud these two commissioners for their integrity and sincere attempt to bring forth their concerns and to vote against their colleagues who seemed to have already made up their minds before this meeting began and before the testimony was heard from the people who voted them into office. This contract was researched by several competent citizens, who took notice that this contract was very open ended and would benefit the Corporation while leaving the citizens with very little to gain, most likely losing their representative government in the process. The North American Union, which is open borders between Mexico, Canada and the United States, proposed by George W. Bush during his administration, seems to be the goal of this superhighway, which will cross our country and connect us with the others, thus forming a new union. It is part of the New World Order that has been proposed many years ago by the United Nations, and is slowly being implemented.

Our freedoms are at stake and the very sovereignty of this great nation. Why are our elected officials so blind to the well being of the citizens and the land area they represent? Why would they so carelessly push forward without deeply investigating every aspect of a situation or project and the contract that would make it impossible to change once implemented? Why would they feel the urgency to push this through so quickly? We have had plenty of this type of governing as the federal government has proposed one crisis after another and imposed great harm on this nation, with their stimulus, tarp and bailouts, as they have continued to ignore the pleas of the American people, to stop the out of control spending that is crippling this nation. It now looks as if our local governance is using the same tactics of pushing forth quickly with their projects without concerns for those whom have elected them to the positions they hold. It is time for all of America to wake up and get involved and pay attention to those we have sent to our governments, local, state and federal, before we no longer have the ability to freely express our views.
