If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention

We have heard a lot about Solyndra, the recipient of $535 million taxpayer dollars only to go belly up. Less reported are the stories of the other 35 green energy drains down which our money is swirling.

Take SunPower, which is majority owner by French company Total SA. It received 1.5 billion in loans and another 1 billion in a credit line. The company just announced cutting 15 percent of its global workforce. All of those jobs were in the Philippines. So, exactly how many American jobs are there? And the company stock has dropped 47% in the last 12 months. Or LSP Energy that received $2.1 billion only to file Chapter 11 Bankruptcy within 12 months. Or Abound Solar that received $374 million only to fold within 12 months. And it goes on and on. Check the list further to see how many of the questionable loans are to companies in key states or are to companies that were Obama supporters in 2008. If solar power is destined to be a money maker and a reliable source of energy, private enterprise will invest and profit from it. Don't believe it? Look at oil. The American taxpayer should not be working everyday to give money to private companies. We work too hard for our money. A fact that is not respected by the decision makers who fritter away our money to buy votes. As they say, "If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention". Use the one thing left to you to stop the lunacy, your vote. Bruce Butler
