He openly said the reflecting pool actually looks good and called $13 million “small” considering America is approaching its 250th anniversary and major national landmarks should look clean, restored, and impressive instead of rundown. Then he doubled down even more by saying the country also needs a proper ballroom because these historic locations should represent strength and pride, not decay and embarrassment.
