Leftist Censorship Has Help China Gaslight Against Accountability

After most scientists and agencies (including the CIA) have now determined a lab leak from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology was the likeliest origin of COVID-19, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has decided to gaslight the world. The CCP is now alleging that “Substantial evidence suggested the COVID-19 might have emerged in the United States earlier than its officially-claimed timeline, and earlier than the outbreak in China.” (Reuters)

Of note, this preposterous allegation was publicized on April 30, less than two weeks after the White House posted a website providing the solid evidence of a Wuhan Lab Leak as the origin. Unfortunately, the progressives not only helped protect China from accountability over COVID-19 for years but also attempted to discredit and censor those trying to voice the truth. The progressive lie that the “lab leak theory” was a right-wing conspiracy has now brought us to the point China is able to allege COVID’s origins were from the United States. It’s time for accountability of both the CCP and those who actively suppressed the truth in the US.

First, at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, Dr. Anthony Fauci and several of his allies in the scientific community sought to deter any hint that COVID-19 could have originated in the Wuhan Virology lab. That’s despite the proximity of that lab to the outbreak and Dr. Fauci being aware that Eco Health Alliance was attempting gain of function research at the lab. From the beginning, Fauci and media allies continually pushed a questionable study published in Nature magazine to discredit those who suspected a lab leak: “Here we review what can be deduced about the origin of SARS-CoV-2 from comparative analysis of genomic data…... Our analyses clearly show that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a purposefully manipulated virus.” (Nature)

By February 2020, the Fauci line was so pervasive the New York Times headlined an article lampooning Tom Cotton for suggesting a lab leak: “Senator Tom Cotton Repeats Fringe Theory of Coronavirus Origin” (NY Times).

After Trump’s election, the exposure of Biden Administration lab leak censorship was exposed. From The Hill: “This week (Dec 2024), the Wall Street Journal released an alarming report on how the Biden administration may have suppressed dissenting views supporting the lab theory on the origin of the COVID-19 virus. Not only were the FBI and its top experts excluded from a critical briefing of President Biden, but government scientists were reportedly warned that they were ‘off the reservation’ in supporting the lab theory.

“The chilling suggestion is that, despite the virus ultimately killing more than 1.2 million Americans and over 7 million people worldwide, there was still an overriding interest in the administration to downplay the Chinese responsibility for the pandemic…. dismissing the lab theory became an article of faith in politics and academia.’ The problem was that FBI researchers had concluded that the lab theory was the most credible explanation…. opposing research was discounted…. Defense Department experts John Hardham, Robert Cutlip and Jean-Paul Chretien conducted a genomic analysis that found evidence of human manipulation of the virus. It also concluded that it was done using a specific technique developed by the Chinese at the Wuhan lab.” (The Hill)

While leftists suppressed accountability of China for COVID-19, the World Health Organization (WHO) gave some criticism of China’s lack of transparency by early 2023. This was after WHO had coddled and even praised China for its handling of COVID-19. According to PBS, China “lashed out Saturday at the World Health Organization after its leader said Beijing should have shared genetic information earlier. 

The WHO comments were ‘offensive and disrespectful,’ said the director of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Shen Hongbing. He accused the WHO of ‘attempting to smear China’….. The global health body’s director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said March 17 that newly disclosed genetic material gathered in Wuhan in central China, where the first cases were detected in late 2019, ‘should have been shared three years ago.’” (PBS)

The Biden administration continued helping China as it targeted conservatives attempting to expose the lab leak origin.

Because the left spent so long fighting the lab leak theory while pushing the ridiculous wet market theory (that COVID-19 allegedly jumped from animals to humans in a wet market near the Wuhan lab), China is now able to make preposterous allegations against the US.”

The CCP can us a multitude of articles defending China against what almost assuredly happened: The Wuhan Lab was involved in gain of function research, funded by Dr. Anthony Fauci (as head of NIAID) through Eco Health Alliance to Wuhan. The Chinese violated treaties and international law by allowing this dangerous research. They killed as many Americans as almost all our wars. Since Biden pardoned Dr. Fauci for any crime committed back to 2014, the left has further helped prevent exposure of what happened and corresponding justice.

The CCP and those who suppressed the lab leak theory must be held accountable, and we must fully expose what happened. Too many died. This can never happen again. We turn to God as the fount of all justice and seek His wisdom for finding the justice so sorely needed to heal the wounds from this dark time.
