Let's Expand Self Defense Laws In Safety Conscious States

Critics who claim this would usher in 'the Wild West' clearly haven't been paying attention to their timelines. 'The Wild West' is already here!

I posted this on social media:

'I support expanding Louisiana self defense law so that the custom.of screaming, loudly cursing, threatening and making large arm motions should be reinterpreted as grounds for deadly force usage.

Missouri prosecutors warn of expanding self defense law (Fox2 St. Louis, May 7th, 2026)

Safety can be created by the law abiding public more broadly than law enforcers.

It's long overdue to curb popular 'crash out' behavior tolerated by permissive progressives. Making it a legal cause for justified homicide would accomplish that. If 'ghetto' temperament sets the standard then things are as dangerous as when klansmen did. Read that again…

Millennial and 'Gen Z' members of all colors, not just traitors to my community's safety, have been encouraged to get overly aggressive in public and also during protests. Expanded self defense laws allowing deadly force to be used in response to such menacing would start curbing it.

Missouri is offering a national model on finally holding enabled egotists accountable, perhaps fatally, for threats and attacks they make which are currently misdemeanors where deadly force can't be used in self defense. A declawed public is a captive one.'

Despite being a self-described 'recovering grouch,' let me assure you I'm not bloodthirsty. If anything, I'm surrounded by bloodthirstiness in a captive city and national ideology catering to it.

Reasonable people shouldn’t be expected to risk degradation or devastation in order to avoid breaking current laws allowing violently ignorant individuals to threaten and assault targets at will. State legislators, and members of Congress, should closely examine Missouri's expansion of self defense law as a way forward in creating readily available safety. Current legislation in too many jurisdictions simply doesn't allow effective 'safety creation,' as I term it.

Most folks don't feel it's fair to expect they'll become street gladiators and go 'toe-to-toe' with malcontents with nothing to lose. That's the current expectation where you can't escalate to deadly force even if an assailant threatens it or uses currently categorized misdemeanor level force. You essentially have to wait until your attacker produces a firearm, edged weapon or something that can break bones before a deadly force response is justified.

Hopefully you won't be too incapacitated to save yourself or others.

Let's expand self defense laws in safety conscious states and stop enabled threat making and currently categorized misdemeanor assault in their tracks.

Targeted people shouldn't have to worry more about going to jail than possibly going to the hospital or morgue.

Critics who claim this would usher in 'the Wild West' clearly haven't been paying attention to their timelines.

'The Wild West' is already here!
