Threats and Freedom of Speech

Liveleak succumbs to threats over FITNA

Welcome to the world we must share with radical Muslims. Screw freedom of speech, screw freedom of expression, and all you who preach multi-culturalism and tolerance and inclusion can watch them all go straight down the toilet.

Liveleak.com has removed the anti-terror short film "Fitna" from it's site due to (what must obviously be death) threats they claim to have received. Remember, it's okay for al Jazeera to post videos of men and women having their heads sliced off with a kitchen knife, but say anything bad about some Muslims or verses of "tolerance" in the Koran, and we may as well just go hide in the closet. I wonder if those at Liveleak who oppose the war on terror now have second thoughts?

The Removal of "Fitna" Official Liveleak statement.

Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly affect the safety of staff members, Liveleak has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers. This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net…
No #.
… but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people from all backgrounds and religions, who gave us their support. They realised Liveleak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not just for the support of one. Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one another's culture. We stood for what we believed in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high. LiveLeak.com
Precedence has been set. Soon, you'll hear people talk about when there was something called "freedom of speech", women weren't stoned to death in the street, we could drink a beer, and we wore something called blue jeans. There was a time when there were many different religions and you could post ideas on the Internet without receiving death threats and giving uneducated goons an excuse to riot, destroy, and kill all around the world. BTW- Fitna is still available online elsewhere, for now. Here's the official Fitna website, with video.
