“Looking” Good to get Ahead

40 years after working at trying to get women to be viewed for what they can offer. Some people increasingly are trying to convince them to go back to getting a head based on what they have; their looks. True equality is now in full reverse. People who think this way control the school system another reason to home school.
If young girls are taught to get by on their looks young men will only look at them that way. Insanity reigns supreme now. We are looking at a cash cow for plastic surgery as this article points out and there are long term health risks involved as well. As the article also points out "...cultural phenomena such as surgical makeovers on numerous television programs, however, make it increasingly difficult to agree on what constitutes a "normal" appearance". What is truly horrifying is the ages of some of the young people going under the knife. As to the cash cow aspect of it the statement here that, "...by the age of 6, kids can participate in the decision to have surgery and understand why it is being done" is an undermining of parental authority by someone who stands to gain financially by doing it; and at the taxpayers expense. So here is the very real fallout of the unrealistic expectations Hollywood, and the media in general, are churning out. Heidi Montag had 10 procedures in one day.

Girls as young as 12 are now asking for what amounts to genital mutilation. I must point out the side effect here is nobody can complain about the genital mutilation of little Muslim girls when other little girls are asking for it. Where in the name of heaven do they get these ideas; and at that young an age? Well it appears to be the porno industry. But how did the idea leach down to 12 year olds? The assertion is that social engineering by the media is driving women's self-confidence to hell in a hog cart. Can't we allow little kids to be little kids anymore? There is a great line from Stephanie Powers of Hart to Hart fame about Hollywood, "It's an industry, but it's a heartless industry." So are people telling me it's a good idea to have "heartless" Hollywood and the media calling the shots as to how young girls view themselves? Should they continue to project unrealistic expectations of what is considered attractive? What happen to real diversity? What happened to substance as opposed to style? Now young people, especially young women, are being manipulating into "looking" good to get ahead. My sister lives in Australia and much prefers watching British television shows for the simple reason the people on those shows look like real people. Real feminists like Phyllis Chesler, Tammy Bruce, and Christina Hoff Sommers must be tearing their hair out in rage these days. What happened? Here are 48 reasons not, and not let your daughter, get breast implants.
