Mr. President, Against Google, You Are Our Only Hope

For the first time in nine years, pervasive social media giant, GOOGLE has suddenly began showing Canada Free Press (CFP) articles, high up in its search results again.

Demonetized and delisted by Google, starting in 2015, CFP has been exiled to an online Siberia ever since.

If it weren’t for the reality that readers, always on the search for The Truth, will find what they want on the so-called Highway of Information known as the Internet, we likely wouldn’t even be here.

Life changed dramatically one week ago today, when President Donald J. Trump was Inaugurated.

Because President Trump has taken a strong stand against Internet censorship, is Google beginning to feel the chill?

Here’s hoping!

Google started to drain away our traffic starting back in 2015, when our independent news site was garnering about 250,000 page views coming in from Google search results—with an average 4 pages per user relationship—that’s an impressive 1,000,000 page views a month.

That being accomplished, the social media giant, then turned to draining off our revenue in March 2020, during the COVID-19 hoax.

Emails from Google began flooding in demanding that we remove certain articles. Technically, they gave us a choice: delete the article, or remove Google advertising from the page on which it appeared.

It was always our best writers whose articles they wanted scrubbed .

Google emails arrive daily—even now—and sometimes twice a day.

We wrote back, firmly stating our refusal to remove any of our longstanding, regular columnists, clearly reminding the social media giant that they did not own the Internet—knowing full well that Google does control almost 70% of all online revenue—and 90% of the search result market!

We chose to remove Google ads off the pages they chose to censor. Even so, that wasn’t good enough for Google, which then totally suspended our account.

CFP systematically removed all Google ad code from our 27-year-old site—yet three years later, we still receive daily orders from Google demanding we take our entire site down—on the threat of removing Google ads which were long ago, already removed.

With its monopolistic reach, Google’s censorship intends to drive all conservative and Christian news sites offline.

CFP has survived only because of the many readers who come directly to CFP rather than Googling us, and because of the generosity of readers who donate to us even in times when money is tight.

When the writer of this article spotted a CFP story on the front page of Google two days ago—for the first time in nine years—her eyes teared up.

There is no way for us to know if this was a genuine return from our Google-imposed Siberian Exile, and can only hope and pray that it is.

President Trump, this little but feisty independent news site that has always been on your side, is now sending out this SOS:

Please get mighty Google to take its big foot off of the throat of the struggling but still here Canada Free Press, whose slogan is and will always remain: ‘Because Without America There is No Free World’.

God Almighty, and You, Sir are our only hope.
