‘Not looking back’... This Canadian Remembers

Just heard that an Obama official told members of the 911 family his administration is 'not looking back'. This in response to a question about Holder putting walls in front of the trial of the Gitmo detainees. 'Not Looking Back?' No, the American people HAVE to look back. You HAVE to remember this was the administration that sent planes flying over the Statue of Liberty scaring the hell out of New York citizens because they failed to notify anyone they were taking advantage of a photo op using Air Force one. This Canadian remembers.

The American people HAVE to remember how long it took and all the brave soldiers that died while this President 'thought over' what to do about Afghanistan and then agreed to the surge as had been suggested. To not look back at that debacle is to make light of our soldiers on both sides of our borders who died during that period of time. In the end he decided to take the advice the experts gave him and go with the surge making him solely reponsible for the deaths we incurred while he dithered. This Canadian remembers. The American people HAVE to remember the failed bail out packages. The lies and the cover ups that have yet to be made public will be astounding. GM putting out ads congratulating themselves for 'paying the people back' when in fact that was a damn lie. But the message got out there even though it was a lie and some Americans will have been taken in by it. This Canadian remembers. The American people HAVE to remember the bowing and scraping this President has done in front of countries that hate your guts. The insults this administration has hurled at countries that are supposed to be friends of America. Inexcusable. Israel is at risk and probably feels it stands alone against radical Islam. Trying to become best friends with an enemy and making enemies out of your friends is never a good foreign policy strategy yet that is what has happened. This Canadian remembers. The American people HAVE to remember that your economy has continued to tank as the cost of living continues to rise making it harder and harder to get by every day. Most are living paycheck to paycheck if they are lucky enough to have a job. Thanks to this administration's expansion of government the only industry to have grown jobs is that of your government, and the biggest employer appears to be your unemployment fund. This Canadian remembers. The American people HAVE to remember the health care plan that was shoved down a reluctant public's throat and proudly signed by a man who tried to take all the credit for it while doing none of the work. It is a joke that makes exceptions for many special interest groups - especially unions and, in the end, benefits the few and not the many. This bill MUST be repealed. This Canadian remembers. The American people have to remember news and photos of grand weekly parties taking place at the White House and Friday night date nights all at the taxpayers' expense as your economy is in the toilet? Wild spending with no regard for who is footing the bill. You would think pulling in the fiscal rug would start at the White House, but instead they have been using the public credit card like a teenager. How many people did it take to travel to a conference on Global Warming that had no outcome at all? Lots - that's how many and all on the public dime. This administration acts more like royalty than public servants. This Canadian Remembers. Surely the American people have to recall reversals on so many things the list is too long to include in a short article but let's start with the closing of Gitmo. Never happened and no explanation given. Trials for terrorists on American soil. Now, not going to happen and no explanation given. Involvement in Libya which is a war but America is not part of that war but just killing people there for the fun of it? No explanation given. Need I go on? This Canadian remembers. Americans have to know that racial tensions are growing in a country that had, for the most part, grown past that. The race card being played on innocent Americans who simply do not agree with the policies of this administration. Belittled and made fun of by the very people they elected to represent them for simply speaking out. Ridiculed? Called names of the worst kind? Racist for instance by elected officials? This Canadian remembers. Most of all watching the greatest nation on earth brought almost to its knees by a debt that in three years grew faster than all the Presidents you ever had. Fiscal responsibility? Not an understood concept by this administration at all. It is 'spend baby, spend, as fast as you can!' Damn the torpedoes! God dammed America! This Canadian remembers. Americans must remember their constitution that has been stepped on and spat on and ripped apart by Presidents past with the one harping about 'Hope and Change' kicking this can so far down the road I am not sure the American Republic will ever recover. Actions and words by this administration demonstrating over and over again that special interest groups are more important to them than the very constitution of the United States of America. Appointments of Czars out of control and unvetted by your elected officials setting up a shadow government running your country instead of the one you sent to Washington. It does not matter what happened in the past. You were promised change. Is this the change you voted for? Everything done the same old way and worse? This Canadian Remembers. So with all of this I have to stop and ask each and every one of you; What are you going to do today America in an attempt to restore your country? The clock is ticking. Time is running out. No matter what, this old Canadian will always remember that America was the greatest nation on earth - once. I am your Northern Neighbour.
