Nothing is secure

This morning we received a notice that our oncology group was hacked and our personal information compromised. Shortly after I saw the story about the 800,000 barrels of oil that are misplaced everyday. The powers that be don't even know, allegedly, if they are lost or if it is a bookkeeping error. And recently, the second IRS hacking occurred. Finally, I'm getting it through my thick skull. Nothing is secure. All of the aforementioned instances are examples of the inability of government to keep information with any degree of security. I'm not sure if there is no system capable of securing data or if the government is just not using that system. Until they are able to protect our information, they should not require us to provide it to them. They need to stay out of our medical and financial business. Before the government was the repository of all our private information, we had few problems. John Bryant
