President Obama will travel to Copenhagen to make a pitch for Chicago’s Olympic bid, White House officials have confirmed to NBC News. Obama will leave for Denmark Thursday night, hours after his wife Michelle departs for the vote. The president made the final decision Saturday night after returning from the G20 summit in Pittsburgh. “The President decided over the weekend that he wanted be a part of the final push as we enter the home stretch,” Jarrett told Politico.com.The next time Democrats get all defensive about their traditional label of being soft on defense, I will be one of the first to remind them that a Democrat president escalated a conflict and then found the time to go on two vacations, a couple of summits, the Sunday news show circuit, Letterman and Leno, on another European jaunt to bring Olympic millions in payoffs to the American sewer of politics, while honorable Americans are hung out to dry by a man who could give a damn about them. Harsh? Ask a soldier on the ground in Afghanistan.
