Obama’s America:  Social engineering will forever trump common sense

I am at a total loss! Obama and his comrades tell us that there is no need to produce more domestic oil and that we are presently producing all we need, and, at a record rate.

They then tell us that lack of domestic production is not the cause of high energy prices and that the problem lies with the Middle Eastern producers and unrest in the area. This, they say, drives up the price of imported oil. Next they tell us that the speculators are the cause and, it's their fault. Then they come up with a solution and will release oil from our reserves, oil that will have to be replaced with imports. Now, tell me where I am going wrong. If we opened the United States to full and unimpeded oil production, there would be no need for imports and no Middle East price component. Without oil imports there would no need to deplete our reserves and no fodder for the speculators, no price escalator there. I know that my solution seems overly simple. Keep in mind that it's Obama we are dealing with, where high energy prices and social engineering will forever trump common sense.
