Oklahoma Attorney General, Scott Pruitt

Oklahoma Attorney General, Scott Pruitt may not be a household name to many but he is certainly recognized by the people at the Environmental Protection Agency. As Trump's appointment to head that agency, Trump is signaling, again, his unwillingness to continue business as usual. Thank goodness. Here's just a couple of reasons why that is a very good thing. You may remember a while ago, that EPA clean-up of the old Colorado mine that went terribly bad, turning the Durango River orange with millions of gallons of toxic sludge. Now in Montana, thousands of snow geese have died because they mistook an abandoned mine pit full of deadly compounds for a lake. Both of these sites, and many more across the country are super fund sites and managed by the federal government. There are over 1300 such sites in the United States, The original plan was for the responsible parties to pay for the clean up but over time, taxpayers have footed more and more of the cost. And if these 2 scenarios are any indication of the competence of those managing the EPA, a change is long overdue. We need a firm hand at the helm to fix the problems at the EPA.
