On May 1st, Dalton McGuinty ushered in higher hydro prices. On July 1st, he brought in his $3 billion HST tax grab and secret eco-tax. And tomorrow - September 1st – the Liberals auto insurance reforms will force families to pay more and get less in return. Miller, commented saying, if Dalton McGuinty was serious about lowering auto insurance premiums for Ontario families, then he would crack down on those who cheat and steal from the insurance system with false claims and excessive injury assessments. Instead, he chose to crack down on Ontario families. QUOTES: “Dalton McGuinty had a choice between cracking down on those who cheat and steal from the insurance system and cracking down on Ontario families. He chose to crack down on families by making them pay more.” --Norm Miller, Ontario PC Finance Critic, Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP “Ontario families have already done more than enough. They are already forced to cope with higher taxes, higher fees and higher bills. It’s become painfully clear that Ontario families just cannot afford Dalton McGuinty any more.” --Norm Miller, Ontario PC Finance Critic, Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP QUICK FACTS:

• On May 1st, 2010, Ontario electricity rates increased by 12%. This rate increase, when combined with the HST and other hidden fees, will cost Ontario families an additional $350 per year.
• On July 1st, 2010, Dalton McGuinty’s HST tax grab took effect and raised the cost of a range of goods and services families use every day, such as gasoline, hydro, Internet and haircuts. On the same day, Dalton McGuinty tried to sneak in a secret eco tax on 9,000 products, but he was later forced to delay its implementation.
• On September 1st, 2010, new McGuinty Liberal auto insurance reforms will reduce or eliminate coverage Ontario drivers previously had, forcing them to pay more in premiums to maintain the same coverage.
