'Original Gangstas': My Generation's Internal Safety Reality

I just posted on x:
'Just as with their predatory predecessors in my generation, I understand beyond a shadow of a doubt that I must be ready to defend myself and others against a disturbing percentage of young traitors the age of my children or grand children if I had any.

That's our internal safety reality.'

I included an iconic photo of beloved ancestor Jim Brown and beloved elder Fred Williamson from their 1996 movie, 'Original Gangstas' to illustrate the theme of my post.

Their film depicted this internal safety reality in the form of former gang members reuniting after becoming reputable to stop a latter day version of their gang terrorizing the community.

'OG,' short for 'original gangsta' is also a term of endearment used by urban millennials to describe Brothers of my vintage.

I'm roughly the age now Jim Brown and Fred Williamson were when they made that movie and am in their character's real life shoes, minus never being a 'gangsta,' a position I've occupied since the 1980s crack cocaine invasion.

This theme is one I frequently revisit because I refuse to live under the sneaker of 'ghettoized' storm troopers deployed to keep my generation, and their own, in bondage.

The message of 'Original Gangstas' is a cautionary tale of what happens should stakeholders allow the stakes to become so high that basic safety becomes a gamble.

The trailer for this picture spells it out plainly:
