Pelosi’s “Biblical” Policies

Forgive me, but sometimes Progressives are so blatantly foolish as to be laughable – if they weren’t so bloody dangerous.

This summer, Fancy Nancy (Pelosi) displayed the absolute, deer-in-the-headlights panic of the Left in a speech she gave at a Catholic Community Conference on Capitol Hill. And Americans – be they Christian or not – would do wise to pay attention here, and not be taken in. The public no longer buys Progressive efforts to wrap themselves in the flag, and paint their anti-American policies as “patriotism”. So now, the last-ditch tactic is to wrap them in the Bible. The Speaker informed us that her “favorite word” was the Word. It was downright pitiful. She couldn’t bring herself to say “the Word of God”, because that, of course, is a Progressive No-No. Instead, she mumbled, “…you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word”. The best she could force out was a veiled hint, in the hope that ignorant listeners would take the bait. She went on to say that ALL of their policies are based on that Word. Whether she meant her own policies, or those of the Obama administration in general, the effect was the same - I almost choked.
  • How do you find Biblical justification for eliminating any mention of God from every court, school, and public place?
  • How do you justify with Scripture the breaking of all of your campaign promises to the taxpayers when the Bible says, “Thou shalt not lie”?
  • How do you base widespread welfare programs on the Word of God, which plains says, “He who will not work, let him also not eat”?
  • How do you base forced wealth redistribution on Scripture that says, “Thou shalt not steal” and “the laborer is worthy of his hire”?
  • How do you use the Bible to justify legal abortion, when it VERY plainly says, “Thou shalt not commit murder”?
For those who missed it, during the second Bush campaign, the MSM media aired a very interesting report, detailing the “training sessions” that Democrats were holding to teach their people how to garner Christian votes by “using the terminology”. In other words, they were actually holding classes to teach their operatives how to mislead the voters by couching socialism in Christian-sounding phrases. (And the media thought this was so neat, that they bragged about it!) Sadly, you can dress Progressives up, bus them to their venue, and give ‘em a script – but you cannot produce Sense out of Absurdity. Any Christian listening to Nancy Pelosi that day immediately recognized a prime example of what Jesus meant when He said in Matthew 23:27 “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.” Wow. The Word really does cut to core, doesn’t it, Nancy? Progressives might want to go back and brainstorm a bit more. Americans don’t buy “patriotism” that destroys America, and we won’t buy “religiosity” that violates every teaching of the Bible. However, we do laugh at fools who think we will.
