Procrastination and manipulation

It's really quite aggravating to watch and listen to the reports on the deficit, budget, tax cuts and fiscal cliff.

None of these situations were unexpected and absolutely nothing is done until the last minute after achieving the maximum amount of orchestrated press coverage. I want to watch the proceedings and judge for myself who puts forth good ideas and who is uncooperative. Taking us to the precipice is irresponsible. All of the looming crises have been ahead for ample time to negotiate reasonable settlements. Pushing the country to the edge, in theory, will force the other side into giving in. This is not good governance, this is procrastination and manipulation. John Land Englewood, FL
