Calling all Tea Party Patriots:

Protest Obama at the University of Michigan!

When: Saturday, May 1, 8:00 – 11:00 am Where: Outside Michigan Stadium, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Please join thousands of other patriots from across the Midwest on May 1 as we gather to protest Obama when he speaks at the University of Michigan’s commencement ceremonies. This is not a protest against the graduates or commencement; rather, it is a protest centered around the theme of “Where are the jobs for these graduates, Mr. President?” Please bring family-friendly signs with this theme in mind.

We will be congregating along the west side of S Main St. between Pauline Blvd and Scio Church Rd. We will also gather on both the north and south Sides of W Stadium Blvd west of S Main St. The areas where we need you to congregate on the sidewalk (1-person deep) will be marked with a line of chalk on the day of the protest. Please note the dotted lines on the map (below) as indicators of our general position. Please also do not gather on any other corner or area, especially not right in front of the Stadium or any other University property such as the Golf Course, since University Police can remove you. Parking is available in commercial lots/areas between I-94 and the Stadium along the stretch of S Main and Ann Arbor-Saline Rd., and is also available south of I-94. imagePlease plan to arrive in Ann Arbor by 7:00 am to account for parking time and other traffic delays associated with a heavily-secured area and large event crowds. We will finish our protest around 11:00 am as the commencement ceremonies get underway. For directions to the area, search for the Stadium address and refer to the map above for assistance. The address of Michigan Stadium is 1201 S. Main St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104-3722. It is denoted by the pin with the letter “A” on the map to the right. Our positions are marked with a dotted line. Suggested parking areas are indicated by darker shaded circles. Please pass this along to family and friends. See you there!

Picket Obama!

We received this information from the University of Michigan website: that the gates to the U of M stadium will be open at 6:30am, May 1st, and that university officials want those attending the commencement to be seated by 9:00am. THIS MEANS THAT WE MUST START OUR PICKET EARLIER! Please plan to gather at 7:00 am on the South East corner of Stadium Blvd and Main Street, in Ann Arbor. The actual commencement starts at 11:00am. We will stay until about 11:30-- though if anyone wishes to stay longer and catch everyone leaving the Stadium after the commencement-- they certainly may do so!
