FOB DELTA — The 1st Bn, 10th FAR troops were happy to assemble the urban-style wheelchairs, specifically designed for use on rough terrain.

Although the mission has changed during this deployment for Soldiers of the 3rd HBCT, 3rd ID, those assigned to the 1/10 FA still have important jobs to do. In addition to running a myriad of systems within this Base, the artillerymen are partnered with the Wasit PRT. Both the Soldiers and the Wasit PRT work with the Iraqi populace to identify, then build or repair various economic systems that increase stability and growth within the prov. The projects range from entire farming enterprises to water pumping stations and micro-grants. Soldiers and PRT members usually gauge success by the electrical current or gallons of water available in villages where these amenities were lacking. With this recent wheelchair delivery, they got an instantly-visible sign of success; gigantic smiles from the children.
