The Nefarious Plan

If you were me, that is Satan, and you wanted to destroy the love and respect of God -- and I’m speaking of the God of Christianity -- where would you begin? Well, of course as some of you know, I began my plan a long time ago but how did I go about it? I began to remove any mention of God from as much of society as possible. In so doing I’d be removing God’s influence and principles, naturally leaving in place my own plan of lust in all its forms. But where did I start more recently for the most success and effect?
The United States of America. Why? Because she is the nation founded on God’s principles; in the beginning the respect and love of God was the accepted norm. The Framers instigated God’s principles into the Constitution and the US flourished abundantly becoming the most powerful nation ever, brimming with creativity, inventiveness, hope and the anticipation of a free and successful life for its citizens. This is what happens when citizens are given personal freedom. People from other parts of the world aspired to come to America for the opportunity to build the dreams which their own countries quashed. The American Dream was a reality. Of course I, Satan, was already operating in there with the slave trade, prostitution, and immorality but the US Constitution had a far superior influence which is why she grew so successfully and she eventually banned the slave trade, although I did keep my racial discrimination which I have wielded to great effect, even to the point of persuading some so-called Christians it was an o.k. practice. And as for immorality, well, just look around.

With my cunning I caused people to think that God was not a reality and many believed me because they had a tendency to follow their own ways -- God’s principles of morality hindered what they felt were their pleasures. I used these people to begin to question the acceptance of God in society . . . the ‘separation of church and state’ was the catchphrase . . . and they began succeeding by removing such items as the Cross and the Ten Commandments from public institutions. I realized that the earlier in people’s lives I could start this the more success I would have so I moved on to nurseries and kindergartens, schools and universities where fertile minds could be influenced, especially by unbelieving professors and teachers. It took a while but the more I caused the removal of God, even the very mention of Him, the more my own desires were accepted. My biggest triumph, I believe, was gradually instigating liberalism into society, especially in education – I brought in liberalism, a philosophy that allows for mediocrity to flourish, and the standards of excellence began to lower in order to accommodate those who couldn’t make the grades. The liberals thought they were being kind by not criticizing and encouraging those who were educationally mediocre when really they were furthering laziness as well as substandard efforts. Eventually immorality grew to the point where more families began to separate and divorce, millions of innocent babies were executed merely because they were inconvenient or the wrong gender, sexual promiscuity became the order of the day and my own plan was succeeding the more God was dishonoured. Single-parent families proliferated, kids growing up without a father or mother, without principles, without concern for their fellow citizens. I have done an excellent job, you must admit. The US is floundering, in turmoil, and her influence a shadow of what it once was. Other countries have little respect for her and I will continue to work here with the co-operation of her unbelieving citizens, especially in the government. They don’t realize there will be a terrible price to pay but by then it will be too late – for them. image Michael is a freelance writer in Toronto.
