Warren Weinstein is Held Prisoner by al-Qaeda and no one cares

When al Qaeda kidnaps someone he usually ends up decapitated. Not a word of complaint from the protestors or the liberals in America. No uproar against the terrorists’ cruelty. No demonstrations against violations of international law.

When Daniel Pearl was decapitated with a dull blade, there were no marches in the streets against Islamism or murder. Now that Warren Weinstein has been held prisoner no marchers are hoofing in front of the White House threatening to bring up Aymn al-Zawari on charges of crimes against humanity. No one is arresting or assassinating al-Zawari. The liberals ignore inhumane acts committed against Americans and go after our own people for committing minor indiscretions. Anything we do wrong is our fault. And anything our enemies do wrong to us is also our fault.

It’s easier for liberals to hate themselves because they don’t have to get up the courage to mount an attack against their enemies. They are jealous of soldiers who have courage they don’t have. They insult their intelligence to obfuscate the fact that they don’t have the military’s bravery. They are not pacifists out of conscience but out of cowardice. All the mass media and the old Woodstock protestors made a big deal about some nude pictures at Abu Graib. They attacked our military and vilified our country. Some idiots went back to burning the American flag. Seymour Hersh really deserved a booby prize for betraying our image and ignoring the reality of the enemy’s misbehavior. He chose to exaggerate our badness and ignore the enemies’ sins. The New York Times ran about thirty headlines about Abu Graib. I do not object to the subject. I resent the emphasis. How many Americans died in Iraq during the time that Hersh was blabbering about nudity? Why was no attention paid to their corpses? And the protestors marched on singing Hersh’s praises. They celebrated America’s exposure to criticism. It seems that Americans like exposing their own faults. I think it has something to do with us being a country founded on rebellion that fought against our English roots and for religious tolerance. We were founded in protest. We want to be punished. We worship all protest. We don’t recognize that there is good and bad protest. That publicly displaying your own country’s faults during wartime is sedition. That Seymour Hersh is not a hero but a villain for slanting freedom of speech into covert criticism. He should not be getting praised for his indiscretions. Freedom of speech is not freedom to screech. Seymour Hersh is a parrot squeaking his beak down a blackboard. Patriotic Americans feel shivers down their spines as he scratches his accusations at the head of the classroom for dunces. The media puts our hands on the chopping block. We can’t fight back with stumps. Hersh has truncated and emasculated us for the sake of his superficial writing career. He pretends he is a journalist but his bitter, misguided opinions are all over his work. He has no perspective. There is no balance between his attack on Americans and his lack of attacks on Iraqis. He preaches to the choir. He writes to other naïve liberals. They sing his praises for blowing our sins out of proportion and ignoring the murders of our enemies. In the meantime Warren Weinstein is missing. We may never know what is happening. Perhaps Seymour Hersh should get his priorities straight and investigate al-Qaeda and their treatment of Weinstein.
