If there was ever a question, in 2025, whether or not there was waste, fraud, abuse, and corruption at the federal level of the United States government, DOGE and Trump’s MAGA teams have answered with a resounding; Yes there is!

For at least the last 100 years the American Ruling Class has perfected the subtle, marginally legal, and outright illegal ways to fleece the American taxpayers. As a result of their various favors granted to benefactors, taxpayers have a “Damocles Sword” of debt hanging over their heads to the tune of 36.7 trillion dollars. In other words, that is over $107,000 per American citizen, (each man, women, and child) or over $303,000 per taxpayer.

I suspect that all of the federal elected professional career politicians meet Harry Truman’s definition of a crook. The only tool needed to assess the honesty and ethics of an elected official is to compare their net worth when they entered office with their net worth today. There are two major processes available to change the trajectory of the Washington Beltway corruption culture. The first is to amend Article I of the United States Constitution to establish term limits for both houses of Congress. As we have seen, the longer these people “serve,” the better targets they become for corruption. However, I am well aware that this is only a pipe dream because there will likely never be enough virtuous men/women in Congress at the same time to pass such an amendment. The same applies with the potential for such an amendment with a Convention of States because that is a process that also depends on elected politicians.

Having said all that, there really is a way, if enough of We the People want it bad enough. The way to replace the current system is to never, ever, ever elect another incumbent. Not in city council, not at the county level, not at the state level, and not at the federal level. We the People are going to have to step up to the discomfort of doing our duty to preserve the America that was envisioned by our Founding Fathers.

This is probably the only way to return common sense to all levels of government. Can We the People man-up and be school board members, water district board members, city council members, and county board members? Can some of We the People step up and put our lives on hold to serve as state legislators? Can some of We the People step up and put our lives on hold to serve in the United States Congress?

If We the People can man-up, things at the local level can change quickly to bring back common sense. Even returning common sense to the state government can happen with relative ease. However, returning common sense to the United States Congress will take a while—at best, a minimum of 18 years because it takes that long to turn over the Senate. We the People can do it, if we wish.

The other issue that has been a petri dish for uniparty corruption is the United States Tax Code. No single individual fully understands the U.S Tax Code. Over the last 100 years, more and more carve outs (modifications) have been made to serve an unlimited number of special interests. I dare say, if some IRS Agent wanted to nail anyone in America on some tax issue, it could be done. The current tax code is anything but fair and must be abolished for a truly fair system. We the People have the power to cancel the career professional political ruling class. It is simple, but it isn’t easy. It will take a long slog to get the job done, and it may be our grandchildren that will finally reap the rewards of our efforts. However, what our Founding Fathers gave us is worth saving no matter what the cost.
