April Sales Build on March Gains, AIAMC Members Beat Market Improvement


TORONTO – Overall light duty vehicle sales for April continued March’s trend of strengthening smartly, up 6.9% over April 2010 sales to 159,942. For the AIAMC membership, sales modestly beat the market up 7.1% from April 2010 to 88,044. While overall truck sales continued to grow, up 5.9% overall to 84,262, the truck share of the overall market at 52.7% was just slightly lower than it was in April 2010. For AIAMC members, April truck sales did significantly better than the market rising 15.3% to 32,688. For AIAMC members, trucks represented In April, truck sales comprised 37% of the members’ overall sales.
