Dark Reality Of This Television-Obsessed World

I wrote several of the earliest articles on this absolute fact. My family and I stopped watching television 35 years ago, and we have never looked back.

I can qualifiedly tell you that, today, I am surrounded by millions of absolutely moronic strangers.

Back in '87, when people heard I had thrown away our tv, the word on the street was that I was crazy and a religious fanatic. They said my kids would grow up stunted, and that they would be frustrated ignorant rebels when they reached adulthood. Anyone who knows my family knows that is so far from the truth--it's ridiculous.

Although all that you say is true, it is far too simplistic to attribute all the ills that beset this old world only to TV. Satan is the one and only cause behind the downfall of our civilization, and he has a plethora of methods that he utilizes to confuse, confound and convince the bleeting masses.
The church and our education system have not only failed but have gleefully jumped on board the evil's ones programs. Our Government leaders have sold their souls to the devil for a 'bowl of pottage' that will turn very bitter, very soon. Our Medical institutions have joined with Beazlebub to chemically and surgically destroy our youth and decive therir innocent minds.
I could go on, but you get the point. Every day that I arise, I see more and more stark and dark evil taking the land over to the point that rational thought or expression is now considered rash and dangerous.
I am so grateful to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for making a way to escape all what is coming (all that we see now is just the 'tip of the iceberg' ) through the atoning blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. He is on the way, as we speak, to come and 'fetch His bride' and take us away from this madness to our heavenly home before bringing His long prophesied judgments on this sin sick world. Adios amigos, I'm gonna be outa here verys soon. I pray that you have prepared yourself for the coming carnage. (Scripture describes some 5 billion souls will suffer horrible death in the next 7 years).

I stopped watching TV altogether in 2009--I rarely watched anything but Fox News then, but have since cut the cord entirely. Seemed every show had a gay hero, who was the only person in the room with morals or integrity. I realized the producers of TV programming were trying to "normalize" homosexuality. It appears that it worked...

I listen only to talk radio--realized back in the 1960's when recreational drug use was glorified by top 40 songs like "White Rabbit", "Don't Step on the Grass, Sam", "Truckin'" "Riding that Train High on Cocaine" etc. that music was another vehicle taking people to the lake of fire. Me thinks the author has never watched the History Channel or Discovery Channel. The difference between these two stations and the legacy programming is night and day as far as intellectual learning and stimulation.

I agree with @Rev Roy that what you write is accurate, but feel as though there is more to the story, some of which might have been unavoidable.

Thanks to advancements in technology (even long before Philo Farnsworth invented the TV) humans in the western world have had orders of magnitude more free time. Think about it - 150 years ago the average person had to work 16 hours a day to put enough beets on the table to feed the family (or whatever) - nowadays everyone has way more free time than we know what to do with.

So what fills that gap? Entertainment. TV is one facet of that, of course, but so are "professional" sports - after all, those jocks who can swing a bat or whatever are no different than Mr Deniro or Ms Streep et al in that they are watched by millions of people - which also explains why these otherwise-drains on society earn millions while cops and firemen, etc. who risk life and limb daily, are paid thousands. I would have added teachers to that latter group, but of course they have devolved into the leftist crowd of narcissistic bums pushing sick agendas on children and proud to be doing it.

We must recognize the genius in the left's evil long term plans - for decades they have been working on this - from changing the language (why did "perp" morph into "suspect" decades ago, much less the more recent attempt to redefine words?) to infiltrating what we laughingly refer to as "higher education" - now a piss pot of indoctrination served to pudding headed morons who don't realize they are just pawns in a larger game. That plan, again, has been at work for decades, but like so many things evolved at an exponential rate - and now we are at the so-called "hockey stick" curve - huge changes occurring in a short time.

Has the endless push to legalize pot, for instance, been part of the plan? Keep the sheeple stoned and stupid, right? Playing on the emotionally driven dolts, who almost by definition cannot think rationally (and confuse 'feeling' with 'thinking') the leftists have built themselves a perfect army. The useful idiots are a tribe who believe their feelings are paramount, so if one should dare to make a point with which they disagree, they feel self righteous in shutting down that horrible person and retreating to their safe space.

When you think about it, the alphabet mafia's entire cause is based on feelings - when someone who decides that, despite having been born with a vagina is now a man - insists on telling you their preferred pronouns they will take offense if you do not cow to their demands - what is that if not self centered emotional blackmail? I mean, my response to morons like that is to the effect "they have yet to invent a machine sensitive to measure how little I care about your feelings" but even that will, of course, shut them down to further interaction.

Much of what the History Channel and the Discovery Channel broadcast is more propaganda than educational. For example, everything I've seen them broadcast concerning the Bible is trying to undermine people's faith in the Bible. Ancient Aliens is doing the same thing. I can't count the number of times the Greek fellow with the crazy hair is talking about some supernatural event and he almost gets to the point of saying " . . . and God did it." and then he says ". . . and Aliens did it."

I suspect much of what the History Channel and the Discovery Channel broadcast opposes why you believe.

We cut off cable in the 80’s. We used to rent and haul those big VCR machines home (does anyone else remember doing that?) to watch movies until we finally got one of our own the went through hundreds of library documentaries & movies. Our internet provider keeps pestering us to subscribe and we vehemently say “no way”. Lol we’re always disappointed when travelling and hotels off full cable & 1000’s of movies because we scroll & scroll & scroll &…………never find anything worth watching except cooking shows.

Zee tele-visiown captures your mind and flushes your spirit down into a dark hole. So cultured are they who can recall every movie and show and elaborate on a plot as it thickens and twists and goes fowl. Such a distraction and a waste of your mind. Carnal imaginations draw the deaf dumb and blind. lol
