Lincoln was no hero - he supported the Marxists who came to this country because they were kicked out of their European countries for promoting Communism. He also ended state's rights, which was directly against the constitution. Only 1 to 2% of Southerners owned slaves and even some blacks owned slaves. There were numerous Southerners who wanted to end slavery - the Civil War was about ending the huge prosperity in the South (due to its cotton) and making the North prosperous, which at the time wasn't. It's important to study true history of the Civil War, as it was the end of America as planed by our founders. And NO I'm not a Southerner, not a racist either. I'm an America loving historian who has researched and found out that the present day lies we are taught in school were created by the Democrat party back in 1850's and 1860's.

Personally, I think that the criticism of Liz Cheney over her defeat speech is overblown. True, she bears little resemblance to Abraham Lincoln, but I would expect any defeated politician to look for examples from history to soothe her wounded pride. Let her have her moment: she will not rise again.
