Perfectly said, and our youngsters are already trained to be scared of those who are destroying us, dividing us, thinking there is nothing that they can do. As an old person I still thought we could, but am seeing now this is not so, our young people have bought into all their propaganda. I sure still hope their eyes and ears and thoughts will open before it is too late they have never had to fight for their freedom or rights so are weak? They seem to all mostly believe it is too late?

It strikes me that the conflict between central state-ism/socialism/communism and liberalism/free-market systems is the result of a fundamental reality of human nature: humans are tribal and self interested; it's baked into our DNA.

People have always been tribal in nature - “our [fill in the blank] is better than yours” is a fundamental feeling experienced by almost everyone. Whether it’s my religion, my country or my sports ball team, the underlying notion has the same driver. And perhaps this is the result of competition for survival eons ago, let’s leave that to the socio-anthropologists to figure out.

So let’s see how that plays out. Capitalism (i.e. - free markets) has been described, correctly I think, as the best incentive system there is. With each individual being inherently self-interested, that system gives us the ability to come up with a better mousetrap so we can afford a bigger SUV or whatever. The emergent behavior that results is the increased wealth of everyone - let us remember that thanks to capitalism humankind has seen a larger improvement overall in the past two centuries than in the previous entire history of civilization. Homeless people and illegal immigrants in the US have better lives than royalty did in the 10th century - mobile phones, television, some form of health care (or even health as mankind has figured out all manners of cures for sickness, etc. - again thanks to that capitalistic incentive plan).

However, that same self-interested behavior creates, in some people with the charisma to convince slower minded individuals, the desire to do everything that is best for themselves. In other words, people suck. This is why communism/socialism has never and can never work - except for the leadership/elite class. Putin, Madero, Xi, Jong-un and the rest lives lavish lifestyles, I think all would agree, on the backs of the plebes who barely scrape by. The WEF’s “great reset” is simply another route to that same end…they will fly their Gulfstream G800s across the globe while telling whoever survives their attack on humanity to stay close to home (“15 minutes cities!”) and eat insects so they can polish the fenders of the elites’ Maybach’s and grow their food.

Now, certainly, what we have been experiencing in the US in the past few decades is no longer a free market system - in her book (which is maddening to read) “An American Sickness: How Healthcare Became Big Business and How You Can Take It Back”, author Elisabeth Rosenthal points out how the “pillars” of healthcare - FDA, big Pharma, AMA, insurance companies and hospital corporations have essentially conspired to make the healthcare system anything but free market. Well, except for lasik surgery, which has gotten both better and cheaper over the years since it is not generally included in the sh*t-show that we suffer for everything else).

Furthermore, while we may (rightfully) label them evil, the WEF/leftists are not stupid, and they have been playing the long con for decades if not longer. Witness the subtle changes to language - never mind about the attempt to redefine “recession” or even the word “definition”; let’s look back a couple of decades where for some reason the word “perpetrator” to describe someone who committed a crime gave way to “suspect”. Think about it - while I admit that when the news reports that “the suspect “Bernie Madoff …” does make sense, when the helicopter reporter showing a live video image of the highway below reports “…and now we see the suspect opening the minivan door and pulling the old lady out to steal it while kids are crying in the back seat…” I have to wonder what, exactly, do we “suspect” this miscreant of? Poor oral hygiene practices? Bad fashion sense? Because we are all witnessing him committing a crime on live TV!

Of course, that our educational system has been swirling down the toilet for decades is no surprise to anyone with a working brain. And how did that happen? Well, let’s see - union leaders (who prove time and again they could care less about the kids) push for un-fire-able teachers (read about the “rubber rooms” the NY and LA school systems have to maintain for teachers they cannot put in front of students but they cannot fire) only care about raising dues and pay off the (usually Democrat) politicians to prevent things like charter schools, where teachers are held accountable for their performance.

Or indeed, government in general, which can only be described as a drain on society, has bloated to the point where one in six workers in the US work for the government (at all levels no doubt), and these unelected blobs of uselessness are not accountable at all for what they do (or don’t do). I ask, while we were all livid with the evil leadership of Boeing who pinched pennies and ended up having the 737-MAX planes crash and their CEO was fired, etc. - who at the FAA was called to task over that fiasco? Did not the FAA approve the damned planes? OF course, recently we have seen that prince among men, Mayor Pete, utterly fumble the ball when it came to air travel meltdowns or train derailments, but that is hardly the only example of gub’ment tools taking paychecks with no need to worry about how well they do their jobs.

So yes, government is a drain on society - and in some cases (defense, standards) a necessary drain - but it long ago “jumped the shark” in the western world.

Now, for those who have read “The Fourth Turning: What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny” by William Strauss & Neil Howe (published in 1997), this does not come as a shocking surprise. They point out how western civilization has gone through numerous iterations of a repeat cycle, each cycle having what they call “turnings” - analogous to four seasons. We are now living in the fourth turning, where, as they point out, “all hell breaks loose”. While the book is chock full of examples - people and events - from Europe as well as the US, the four line quote attributed to G. Michael Hopf in his book Those Who Remain

“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
It seems quite clear to me we are living in that 4th line.

I grew up in Canada and moved to Australia because of Trudeau.
I try to explain to people about left vs right in politics.
It is easy: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0
10 extreme left- Communistic dictatorships.
0- no government or politics at all. extreme Right, complete freedom, although a hard way to live.
5 is typical old school liberals.
3 -4 conservative.
Now Capitalism is NOTright wing, it is on a sliding scale.
Free market society is abou a 0-3, that moves into Capitalism 4-6 then the corruption kicks in and become Fascism. They are the same thing on a sliding scale .
I like to say Capitalism is just a gateway drug to Fascism.
