I am neither a psychologist nor have had any education in that direction, but maybe that is a good thing. Through over-analyzing anything, one can twist a simple problem into mental blankness and in the process, refuse to see reality. Through many years of life's experiences and using the rarest of rarities, common sense, I have come to conclude certain truths.
Philosophers would say reality is an existent fact whereas truth is an established fact. That's why the Left's aim is to buck established truths, thereby changing reality. 'Are you going to believe us or your lying eyes.' God said, "I am the truth." The closer one gets to accepting reality as truth, the closer one comes to peace with God.
The Comment section of online publications is the new front in the ongoing Cancel Culture Battle.

Sure sounds like all the educated but brain dead, incompetent fools, sick greedy radicals and their zealots, doing nothing beneficial, helpful or useful, alcohol & drug addicts have taken over our countries. And we just let them like the weak fools we are, paying for it as well, without paying attention to the now serious disaster really taking hold now.

"Woodstock was a beautiful, creative cultural event." ( perceived)
"They absolutely trashed that guy's property and left it for someone else to clean up. (reality) (really no worse than Antifa)
they got one thing right, "It's gotten to the point I'm no fun anymore, ..." (their most accurate self appraisal)
They still speak in platitudes and act as though they said something profound:
"Groovy", "peace", "far out", "settled science", "Climate Change", what I hear is "it has electrolytes" and "Quantitative Easing", The platitudes changed, but the indigent nonsense has not.
Now we have a new generation following their footsteps. Oh boy.
