As I read the book "The Best Enemy Money Can Buy" by Anthony Sutton, written in the mid 80's, mind you - I am learning how what we citizens are told (by politicians, the DOD or the media) and what is really happening are faintly connected at best.
For instance, in the 1970s, the Bryant Chucking Grinder company sold the Soviets the ball bearing grinders that subsequently placed the west at the mercy of the Soviet tyrants (because without the ball bearing they produced, the guidance systems on the Russian's ICBMs would not work). So, while on the surface what we all "knew" was "Russia evil and bad, USA good" in back rooms US companies were selling all manner of tech to the Russians (who were unable to create it themselves) with the knowledge of the feds, regardless of what party was in power.
So with the endless streams of fake news for everything else (climate nonsense, covid nonsense, etc) I hesitate to take any words related to the Russia Ukraine situation without a huge grain of salt.

The author does not seem to know the difference between the USSR under Stalin and modern-day Russia.
A statement made by a Ukrainian member of Parliament on Fox News says it all? ""Ukraine fights for the New World Order", said member of Ukrainian parliament. Putin and Russia are against."

Actually, the author does know the difference between Imperial Russia, the USSR and the Russian Federation.
The term New World Order is much too generalized - and while there may be Globalists behind much that was done in Ukraine in 2014 - there is still very much of a conflict with Putin; and the danger he presents to world stability. Just because he is a nationalist and opposes Globalism does not make him a good guy. One has nothing to do with the other. Globalism is neither East nor West - it is much more...
The situation is quite simple, but not as straight forward as chalking it off to "Ukraine = NWO = bad."
From the author's longer piece on Ukraine, which could not be published here.:
"Driving Russia back to pre-February lines is really not enough to guarantee peace. Russia must be driven out of all of Ukraine, including Crimea - nothing less. Yet - Putin may be the best friend Western Society has."

.... "the west" deserves to fall ....
Says "Joel," who?
Who: before being taken seriously; will need to come out of his bubble; curb his prima facie malignant narcissism; define "the west;" have someone explain to him that a relative handful of ignoramus elitists, politicians and Deep Staters are not, by any means, "the west" -- and that the several billion of us who might reasonably be considered to at least be "of" the west, do not deserve even the ignoramus elitists upon whose activities and actions one suspects Joel-what's'is-name bases his flawed opinions.
Let alone that those activities and actions might cause our nations to deserve to fall.
Have a nice day.

Joel Goodman: The term New World Order refers to UN Agenda 2030 which is set forth at
https://sdgs.un.org/2030agenda typical long winded verbiage. A much more succent version can be found at
https://multiversityoflivinglife.wordpress.com/2021/09/03/new-world-order-un-agenda-21-2030-mission-goals/
The key concept is a one world government and Putin DOES pose a threat to "stability" since he wants to preserve Russia's identity as a nation and Russian Orthodox heritage.
While he may not be a "good" guy, he is still the best leader in the world today.
So we agree on your final point "Putin may be the best friend Western Society has."
