Every Red-blooded American must see this video. As Mel Brooks said, “It’s good to be the king.” Congressional salaries increased by 80% between 2000 and 2009, from $141,000 to $174,000. American worker’s salaries, meanwhile, have risen approximately 1.5% per annum, from $32,165 to $36,225. That equates to a 12% increase. CEO salaries have skyrocketed to values representing more than 350 times the average employee, or $12 million apiece. In other words, the average CEO needs only work a bit over 6 hours to earn the equivalent of the average, salaried employee.
