Moving Closer to Mob Rule: No Choice, No Voice

The Electoral College system is under attack as never before. With Nevada about to join the other fourteen states in joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, we are moving closer to both the possibility of mob rule and, unfortunately, a terrible confrontation. Democrats were stunned by their loss in 2016. They were sure they had the election won months before it took place. People were chosen, plans were made. But, it didn't happen. The states chose differently...by people, by region, by interests, by values. It was designed that way. It was constructed to give voice to every state's burdens, every state's concerns. The Electoral College was devised to give every state a voice in choosing the President of the United States, the only national election. A pure democracy does none of that.

We live in two Americas

The Electoral system makes it difficult for any candidate to appeal only to their state's or local interests. They must have wide appeal. They cannot campaign in twelve or thirteen of the largest states and expect to win. Now the Democrat states have gotten together and said 'enough.' They plan on never losing another presidential election. They are determined to move in a radical direction never before seen in our history. We live in two Americas. One is a traditional America with values proven by thousands of years of Western and Judeo-Christian culture...biblical values that determine how we relate to one another, and live side by side. It has always decided how we interact with our families, our friends and other people, how we conduct our business and careers. Early immigrants were not Mexican-American or Asian American. They were American. They abandoned their old culture and embraced a new one. The massive success of that 'American culture' is undeniable. Even Winston Churchill called it the American race. Then we have another America. A belief system that does not worship God or believe in biblical principle, but believes in only self. It is based on the individual with little regard for anyone else. Do your own thing...self-centered egoism. Morality is relative. Whatever makes you feel good. They reject assimilation...E Pluribus Unum, and instead demand multiculturalism. No longer are immigrants asked to assimilate, but to retain their native culture. Instead of joining the American family, they are encouraged to remain apart and not accept what makes us American. Liberals love socialism, but the majority couldn't tell you what it is. They also engage in thoroughly bizarre beliefs. Their latest is that cauliflower is a white supremacist vegetable, don't grow it or eat it. All this and they are convinced of their moral and intellectual superiority. There must be a clinical name for this type of behavior.

Leaving the balance of the country without choice or voice

The Liberal culture rejects American culture in favor of all other cultures. They do not want to live in a Judeo-Christian world or even an American one. What this new culture will not accept is believing there are foreign cultures that will not accept other cultures as preeminent, but will 'play along' until the opportunity to dominate presents itself. Multiculturalism may be fine for restaurants, but will eventually tear the country apart. Assimilation is what made America great, not competing cultures. What is so interesting, but ironic, is that the liberal culture will not include our American traditional culture in their multiculturalism scheme. Liberals reject our values and refuse to subject themselves to it while demanding that we subject ourselves to theirs. Homosexual marriage was and is not popular with American traditional values, but it was, for the most part, accepted. That has proven not good enough for the liberal. They now demand not only acceptance, but approval. Today's Democrat knows that if the Electoral College is eliminated or made inconsequential, they will dominate every national election, leaving the balance of the country without choice or voice, and that will be just fine with them
