Leftists keep devising newer and more radical tactics hoping to create their Utopia

Affirmative Action, Sensitivity Training, and White Privilege Workshops

In the 1930s, in an attempt to attract larger theater audiences, Hollywood moguls instructed screen writers to 'dumb down' plots and dialogue so that movies could be more easily understood by the masses. Eventually the expression 'dumbing down' made its way into the vernacular. It describes a technique to expedite “leveling”, the word that depicts establishment efforts to coerce equality of outcomes. Over the years, elites have tried to surreptitiously 'dumb down' society in order to achieve equality. This is a lofty goal but also an unrealistic one.
Those who think society can be leveled are under the delusion that all people possess equal abilities. But such a belief is a fairly recent development in the thousands of years since men first formed groups. Throughout recorded history, people witnessed and understood the differences among men. But the concept of equal abilities makes people feel good. However, those who hold that abilities are evenly distributed are at a loss to explain why equal results are not being achieved. They often conclude that it must be society that is preventing equal results. These frustrated ideologues eventually decided that if existing standards are lowered, everyone will achieve at the same level. This ongoing process of lowering standards has accelerated during the last fifty years. But regardless of how many times previous solutions failed to level society, the leftist establishment remains convinced that its latest social experiment will bring about equality. But it never has, so they keep devising newer and more radical tactics hoping to create their Utopia. To gain public acceptance for these dubious schemes, disingenuous public relations strategies are employed. But clever semantics no longer fool the public. The public realizes that governmental contrivances to coerce equality have not only failed, but have caused negative consequences to society, whether overt or unintended.

The most ambitious leveling strategy of the last fifty years was governmental mandated 'Affirmative Action'. Of all the efforts undertaken, it was the most costly to taxpayers and caused the most damage to society. Affirmative Action not only took admissions and curriculum decisions away from colleges, it also took hiring , firing and other management decisions away from privately-owned companies. As bureaucrats usually have a limited grasp of economics, they saw no problem in forcing companies to hire employees who lacked adequate job skills. These ill-equipped employees forced companies to hire additional employees to accomplish the same tasks, and the additional cost was passed on to the public in the form of higher prices. As schools and colleges necessarily dumbed down, many corporations had to conduct remedial classes for new hires in order to teach them what they should have already been taught. Although coerced Affirmative Action was supposed to be temporary, it has become a permanent cause du jour of our Federal government. Obviously, many employees began to resent the fact that certain co-workers were not subjected to the same performance standards as everyone else. It was demoralizing when an employee was passed over for a promotion that was given to someone less qualified and had fewer years of service. To mollify this growing enmity, many companies implemented 'Sensitivity Training', a cleverly disguised methodology designed to persuade disgruntled employees that any iniquities they sensed resulted from their own flawed perceptions as well as their inability to appreciate diversity. These contrived brainwashing sessions achieved little success in their day, but are still being used as a form of punishment for people whose opinions deviate from prescribed thought. - Taxpayers are not only paying for these brainwashing sessions, but we now have “Diversity Consultants” who get paid mega-bucks from the government for spreading this counterproductive indoctrination. Those who think society can be leveled never give up and their strategies have become more extreme as well as more covert. Their latest efforts involve the indoctrination of young children. Leftists want to mold the minds of youths before they have achieved any maturity of thought. In 'White Privilege Workshops' teachers are encouraged to impress upon white children that they have inherited intense racist attitudes from their parents. Since neither they nor their parents realize this, children must be taught that whites have been unconsciously passing on racist beliefs for several generations. This cruel racism is implicit in white privilege, so it makes sense to leftists that all vestiges of white privilege must be eliminated. And, of course, elites will decide what constitutes white privilege. Although they try to keep their taxpayer funded 'White Privilege Workshops' under wraps, enough sessions have been infiltrated to show us just how devious they are. Still, those who oppose these practices or those who have been are harmed by them can, if they have the wherewithal, pursue legal remedies. Such legal actions often make their way to the Supreme Court, and so the political makeup of members of that body becomes crucial to the future direction of our country. Unfortunately, the Constitution doesn't contain any qualifications for Supreme Court Justices, so presidents can nominate whomever they want, subject to approval by the Senate. We can be sure that Barack Obama's two appointees to the Court will be solidly behind any and all efforts to coerce the leveling of society. And we also know that the current Senate will probably rubber stamp any Court nominees that Obama submits. As the Supreme Court has only nine members, and Justices serve for life, it is frightening to realize that President Obama might be able to nominate one or more Justices before he leaves office. This means that the 2014 mid-term elections have become even more critical as voters must radically change the composition of the Senate.- We need a Senate that will refuse to confirm Justices who feel that fashionable leftist trends take precedence over Constitutional law. The economic downturn of the 1930s brought about calls for social reforms. William Alexander Percy, who lived during that time, made this assessment: “Leveling down is the fashion now, but I remember the bright spires – they caught the light first and held it longest.” Now Will Percy's bright spires are being leveled with the drab baseboards because excellence and equality cannot coexist. And, sadly, the current Washington establishment lacks the insight to understand the negative long-range consequences of its ill-conceived efforts to level all Americans.
