“Beto” the Loser?

Watching “Beto” O’Rourke announce that he will be running for Governor of Texas in 2022 initially made the author laugh. How could this two time loser even think that he had a chance of beating Greg Abbott or any other Republican candidate? However, the author then recalled having had a very similar opinion when the Democrats nominated Joe Biden back in 2000. In that election the author actually considered that the Democrats had selected Biden as a “throwaway” candidate under the idea that no one stood a chance against Donald Trump and not wanting to politically damage some future Democrat candidate with a loss. As we all know, Trump’s policies had moved our economy from the intentional disaster of Obama to the strongest in the history of the world. Unfortunately, we all know how that election turned out.

Two separate steps involved in stealing an election

Considering the above, the author started thinking regarding Democrat election fraud and how it was carried out successfully. An idea that occurred is that there may be two separate steps involved in stealing an election such as the one in 2020. The first is, obviously, cheating on election night by over counting Democrat votes while undercounting Republican votes in key precincts in key states which very likely occurred. In the small amount of mainstream media press coverage that existed, the author certainly recalls seeing very suspicious actions on the part of Democrat directed vote counting occurring. However, it is also quite possible that the Democrat strategy started well before the election and included the nomination of a candidate so seemingly weak as to instill overconfidence in the Republicans to the point that a significant number simply did not go to the trouble of voting thinking that Trump was going to win in a landslide over Biden.

Presidential election of 1960 where the state of Illinois swung the result from Richard Nixon to Jack Kennedy

All too many of us Republicans do tend to be less aggressive than do Democrats when it comes to politics and winning (or possibly stealing) elections. Most of us consider government to be little more than a necessary evil and subscribe to the concept: “That government is best that governs least”. This tends to make the Republican Party rather vulnerable when competing with a party where the leaders and many of the members have a true lust for political power. The author is of an age as to recall the presidential election of 1960 where the state of Illinois swung the result from Richard Nixon to Jack Kennedy. Was that election stolen? In the author’s opinion, it was and then mayor, Richard Daley certainly behaved as if he had put Kennedy in the White House up until Kennedy’s assassination in November of 1962. The author’s point in including this piece of history is simply to illustrate that a nationwide presidential election could well have been stolen by stealing one single county in one single state. If a political party knows which counties in which states to steal they can, and very likely have, change the outcome of a nationwide election. If “Beto” O’Rourke should receive the 2022 Democrat nomination as their candidate for Governor of Texas, a state that typically votes Republican, would he be a “throwaway” or, like their nomination of Biden in 2020, could it be their plan to set up a stolen election here. Voter turnout for mid-term elections is generally lower than for Presidential elections so how many bored Republicans not voting in 2022 would it take to help the Democrats steal that election? If “Beto” O’Rourke receives the Democrat nomination next year, then that is a question that all Texas Republicans should very seriously ask themselves (ourselves).
