Call Off The Manhunt: Matt Drudge Not Missing, Just LostThere’s no need to send Columbo, the FBI, CIA or Jared Kushner out on the hunt for that supposedly MIA (Missing in Action) Artful Dodger Matt Drudge. Matt’s still out there—somewhere—in cyberspace—perhaps only by proxy—still hiding under Monica’s Clinton-semen-stained blue dress. In reality, Matt Drudge has been using Monica’s blue dress as a personal refuge ever since 1998.
Before that, the Drudge Report was just a garden variety black-and-white aggregator website getting rich by posting everyone else’s scoops—with no original stories of its own. “On this day in 1998, the Drudge Report carried an item on its website alleging that Newsweek magazine was sitting on a story exposing an affair between President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, a 22-year-old White House intern. (Politico, Jan. 17, 2013)
“Ten days later, Clinton, with his wife beside him, told reporters: “… I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I’m going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you.” “The next day, Hillary Clinton said on NBC’s “Today” show: “The great story here for anybody willing to find it and write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president.” “On July 28, Lewinsky received transactional immunity from Kenneth Starr, an independent counsel who had been named by a three-judge panel, freeing her to tell grand jurors about her relationship with Clinton. She also turned over a semen-stained blue dress to investigators that provided DNA evidence undermining Clinton’s earlier denials. At the urging of Lewinsky’s friend, Linda Tripp, the dress had not been dry-cleaned.

MIA Matt Drudge

“Clinton admitted to grand jurors on Aug. 17 that he had had an “improper physical relationship” with Lewinsky. That evening, he said on national television that his relationship with Lewinsky was “not appropriate.” “The House, dividing along largely partisan lines, impeached Clinton on Dec. 19, 1998.” “The issue then went to the Senate, where after a five-week trial, he was acquitted.”
But Clinton lived on as a darling of the very same politicos who impeached him and their running dog media, even though plagued by sexual harassment scandals to come. Nor did those scandals stop Hillary Clinton from running for the 2016 presidency. Interesting to note that the President Donald Trump Impeachment ‘Inquiry’ “dividing along largely partisan lines” is the Democrat obsession of the day. As for the now MIA Matt Drudge, he continued to milk the Monica Blue Dress story for all its worth between back then and up to the present. And about the Rasmussen rumors that the Drudge Report has been sold?

The Drudge Report is fast becoming the Ghost Town of Cyberspace

"What happened to Drudge?” A lot of people have been asking that question lately. If you talk to conservatives these days, you'll hear that Matt Drudge's eponymous news aggregation site has gone over to the dark side—that Matt's joined the anti-Trump resistance. And now, Rasmussen Reports, an arguably reputable polling operation, is calling Drudge out on Twitter, even suggesting that the site has been sold.” (PJ Media, Dec. 8, 2019) Sold-out is much more like it. Matt Drudge has sold out on the same readers who enriched his site over the long-lasting Blue Dress scoop. Some are noticing that the same people who went first to the Drudge Report for their online News over the last 25 years, are now leaving in droves. The Drudge Report is fast becoming the Ghost Town of Cyberspace.
“The whole kerfuffle appears to have begun at the end of November, when the Bongino Report, touted as a Trump-friendly alternative to Drudge, launched. Bongino taunted Drudge with a pair of tweets: "Rasmussen heralded Bongino's announcement, retweeting a now-deleted post from the Drudge Report account blasting the new site.

Meanwhile forget about Matt Drudge just as he forgot about any loyalty for Deplorables

“Then on Saturday, Citizen Free Press, another conservative news aggregator, announced on Twitter that they're the "new Drudge Report." Rasmussen responded with a bombshell worthy of a great big Drudge siren: "We don't think Matt is there anymore, CFP. Word is he sold, just waiting for confirmation. Now that will be a story." “The barbs from Rasmussen kept coming throughout the weekend, with Rasmussen alternately praising Drudge for going the extra mile to promote polls that surveyed "likely voters" to pleas of "we miss you, Matt." The whole Rasmussen feed reads like a jilted lover weeping over unrequited love. Or weeping over lost Drudge links and the pageviews they bring. (Make no mistake: the traffic a coveted Drudge link generates can make a website's week — or month or year.) “On Sunday night, whoever is running Rasmussen's Twitter feed backtracked a bit on the suggestion that the site has been sold but doubled down on their assertion that Matt Drudge is no longer running the site: "We have no special knowledge of why The Drudge Report has changed so noticeably. But it has. “BuzzFeed reported in August that Drudge changed horses in mid-2019, hiring a new ad vendor for the first time in 20 years, leading to speculation that Matt was selling out his principles for piles of cash — hoping to expand his base by attracting left-wing readers and respect from the MSM elites. Or something. While that's possible, the site was raking in plenty of cash before the change, with revenue estimates ranging from $9 million a year to $30 million."

Forget about getting some corn popping and turn to WhatFinger.com

Claiming that President Trump has noted the Drudge trend to the left, Pj Media's Paula Bolyard advises:
“Keep an eye on President Trump's Twitter feed this week—and get some corn popping.”
The mainstream and social media have long portrayed the Drudge Report as the End All And Be All, but it is not now, and never really was. As in the outcome of Election 2016, it will be the voters and not the media who will reelect Trump in 2020. Meanwhile forget about Matt Drudge just as he forgot about any loyalty for Deplorables. Forget about getting some corn popping and turn to WhatFinger.com, which is doing a much better job than Drudge ever did, and for that matter better than any of the pretenders to the throne now looking to replace Matt Drudge.
