Left wing ‘Radicals’

Much is being said about the right wing, radical, conservatives by the left.

How often have you heard anyone called a left wing, liberal, radical by the right? Maybe it is time to own our positions, both sides. I hear the news people talking about moderate democrats or republicans. All that means is that they are sell outs, eager to keep their own power by kissing up to the other side. We have a deep philosophical divide between the conservative, small government, constitutional right and the liberal, government-fixes-all, socialist left. The terms Democrat and Republican have about as much relevance as Whigs and Torries. I think the new labels would clear up a lot of confusion. And I think people on both sides would be more proud of the designations. I am not a Republican, I am a Conservative. The Washington good old boys need to get out and let the new Conservative and Liberal leaders hash out the issues. Funny, though, while many don the Conservative mantle with all the stones that are thrown against it, few seem to proudly wear the Liberal mantle. Maybe that tells us something.
