Living off public funds is what ACORN does

More Lies from ACORN — This Time About the Porkulus Bill

The professional con artists at ACORN never let up.

Bertha Lewis, the chief organizer (CEO) of ACORN has a blog entry in the Huffington Post denying that funds from the bloated $825 billion porkulus bill will go to ACORN. Lewis, who along with other senior ACORN officials played a starring role in covering up the nearly $1 million embezzlement by Dale Rathke, is lying through her teeth. She knows that ACORN and similar groups that prey on the poor will have a shot at the $5.2 billion set aside in Title XII of the spending legislation for foreclosure relief, community development block grants (CDBG), and low-income housing development and rehabilitation. Such programs, along with funds raised by blackmailing banks and so on, are ACORN’s bread and butter. Living off public funds is what ACORN does — and it’s damned good at it too. (I wrote about ACORN and the so-called stimulus bill last week in the American Spectator.)
