Sorry, Chris. CNN and all the rest of the liberal media have been continually showing that your propaganda has ALL to do with partisanship and nothing to do with the facts!

More Putin agent hype as Trump does the opposite

In the last week so-called "Russian puppet ruler" Donald Trump's administration has:
  • attacked the airbase of a Russian ally with 59 cruise missiles;
  • worked to strengthen Russia's 68 year-old adversary NATO by meeting with the NATO Secretary General and working to get the nation of Montenegro into NATO;
  • met with the President of China, one of Russia's major competitors on the world stage;
  • demolished Russia in several UN Security Council session debates US Ambassador Haley had with her Russian counterpart;
  • chided Russia for their bad acts when the US Secretary of State said our relations with Russia were at a low point on his visit Moscow to see Putin and the Russian Premier.
And still no evidence of Russia tampering with election results or giving orders to Trump associates to rig the election. Isn’t it convenient, then, how the Washington Post breaks a "new" story Wednesday about Carter Page right when the Democrats are in urgent need of shoring up their Trump-Putin collusion myth. It was LAST SUMMER when the FISA court OK'd surveillance on Carter Page and there still have been no charges against him or anyone else connected with the Trump campaign. No, New York Times, the current chilly relations with the US and Russia don't represent a major about-face by Trump. It represents the US finally taking its place among world powers after eight years of Barack Obama administration that appeased and accommodated forces who, to say the least, are working against US interests in the world. Then on Fox News, Shepard Smith, a TV journalist with a history of hostility toward Donald Trump, pounced on the Carter Page news story.

"I can't think of anything much more damning than this," said Smith on his Wednesday show. "This is just the beginning.” Shepherd, please! The beginning? After 8 months of investigation? Level-headed FoxNews chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge then explained: "...court records allege that in 2013 Page passed energy records to a Russian intelligence operative. With a hint of incredulity in her voice, Herridge continued. "Page said those records were university lectures.” Then portions of a taped interview by Herridge with Carter Page followed:
HERRIDGE: "Did the Russians try to recruit you?” PAGE: "The term recruit - I was never asked by Podobnyy or anyone else to do anything. We just were having a light conversation. I was never asked by anyone to do anything untoward or otherwise. Just sharing some thoughts between, uh, between, uh, two, two people.
Going back to live TV, Herridge concluded her report to Smith:
"It's the second time that we have interviewed Carter Page on the record in the last month and he has said pretty consistently that he believed he was singled out because he was a critic of the last administration and because he had extremely deep ties to the Russians, which is now pretty self-evident, based on that 2013 investigation.”
Then, getting back to the typical liberal collusion hype before the next ad break, Shepard Smith gave a headline tease: "President Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort? There's big news!”

About 5 minutes later, Shepard Smith, after a big "Breaking News" graphic across the screen said: "There is breaking news now on Fox News Channel. President Trump's former campaign chairman is now registering with the United States government as a foreign agent…" This is the man candidate Trump got rid of when, among other things, Manafort's political connections with Russia were publicly shown to be so extensive. There is no sign that Manafort has maintained any kind of association with Trump since Manafort's departure from the campaign.! Yet Smith treats if like a big exposee of Trump malfeasance. Politico, wanting to continue to feed the myth of Trump-Putin collusion, went with the following misleading headline: "Carter Page can't rule out that he talked sanctions with Russian officials.” But what the article actually quotes him as saying, after repeatedly being dogged by George Stephanopoulos in the interview was: “something may have come up in a conversation,” before adding: “I have no recollection, and there is nothing specifically that I would have done that would have given people that impression, George.” The interrogation continued: "Stephanopoulos then asked whether Page could say 'without equivocation' that he did not discuss easing Russian sanctions.
“ 'Someone may have brought it up,' Page responded. 'I have no recollection, and if it was, it was not something I was offering or that someone was asking for.’ "
Perhaps a more accurate headline would be: Carter Page assures Stephanopoulos there was no discussion of Russian sanctions with officials. Meanwhile, Wednesday on CNN, they continue their excursion in fantasy land with this headline: "The Russia story just keeps getting worse for President Trump.” They, like their liberal media counterparts were basing their "breaking news" headline on the same Washington Post article about Carter Page: someone who really did nothing, getting caught in a FISA court order 8 months ago about a public document that was given to a Russian in 2013! Then Thursday on CNN, Don Lemon and former Obama advisor David Axelrod discuss at length what they consider to be Donald Trump’s convoluted foreign policy strategy of doing everything for the sole purpose of detracting from his “collusion” with Putin, a fake scenario created by the Democrats to help a failing Clinton campaign and still faithfully carried along by CNN. Another CNN "exclusive" story running the same day stated that Susan Rice's unmasking of Trump associates didn't happen because unnamed Senators and Representatives said so. And of course we're to believe the author of this article, Chris Cillizza isn't a Democrat shill with this disclaimer: "And that has zero to do with partisanship and everything to do with the facts as we know them.” Sorry, Chris. CNN and all the rest of the liberal media have been continually showing that your propaganda has ALL to do with partisanship and nothing to do with the facts!
