An Open Letter to Donald Trump:

Now’s the time to Double Down, Donald

Well, I'm reading, Donald, that you are considering backing off many of your earlier statements and you are starting to apologize. Wrong, wrong, wrong. You've obviously been gotten to by all of the well meaning fools that surround you. You're popularity is predicated on your statements and attitude. Going soft now is a major mistake, and unfortunately I'm positive you're going to do exactly that. You're like the running back that runs 80 yards and then fumbles it away at the goal line. Brother. Would you actually like to win the election in November? Like all smug know-it-alls I have the prescription for your victory in November. Fiercely reject all of the weak, little weenies that would have you being a good boy and receiving the usual pats on the head from your party. Those people (the RINO's are fools and worse). What they are in fact is just another branch of the Democratic party. Call them liberals-lite (not really all that lite).
The reason you shot ahead of all of your republican rivals was your bold strident attitude and comments. You left your rivals in the dust. That is how you got to the party. Backing off now would be a major mistake. When it comes to our great friends the liberals and the media, mangle, let others mollify. I'm guessing all those around you (well meaning as they may be) are telling you to tone it down and start playing ball. I've even read reports about this in the press. Massive mistake. After your so-called controversial statements you shot like a rocket to the top of the pack as there are many in America that agree with your views but have been shut out of mainstream politics by both the liberal left and the slightly less liberal right. Am I saying go back to the way you were before? No. Step it up even further. This is an historic election and I believe you can win it going away, but you will not do this by going soft and blending in with the rest of the soft, blended in crowd. You may have million dollar consultants telling you this is the way to go, but they are dead wrong. When you spoke as you did before there was a ground swell of support that the mainstream media didn't even know existed and didn't understand in the least. Being true believers of the liberal religion, how could they? If you're a liberal, everything you think is correct, end of discussion.

So often in my own life the so called contrarian way or the road less traveled is exactly the one you should be on. Conventional wisdom is just the repeated clichés of people for hundreds of years. If you want current examples of politicians following the good boy conventional wisdom just look at what happened with McCain and Romney. Nice boys, didn't say a word about anything, every sentence was pre-screened and scrubbed with extra strength Brillo pads so as to not possibly offend anybody. I don't have to tell you where these two good boys finished, do I. So my prescription. Hit all of your points with rousing strength, take it to them. Continue to attack the biased, liberal media, the one group in this country that I believe is more hated and mistrusted than even the political class. Every time you hammer them you will help yourself enormously. What you did with Wapo was great, let's see more of it. This is the time to hammer, not use sand paper. And some may think I'm a secret operative of the left trying to give you "bad" information. But nothing could be further from the truth. It's just basic stuff that we all learned as kids. When you find a formula that works for you, you stick with it and ride it all the way. Changing now in mid stream will get you a seat at the table of McCain and Mittens. Is that a table you want to sit at? Broth-err.
