Read the Bill!

It is unconscionable that the Senate only had 72 hours to read, cross reference and digest the latest version of the amnesty bill.

Both sides of the debate should be incensed that anybody saw fit to vote. There should be nothing wrong with the Senate having a certain amount of time per page or perhaps every ten pages. It seems reasonable that there be 1 business day for every ten pages of a bill with a minimum of 3 business days. Business days being necessary for verification of information. As citizens, voters and taxpayers, we are entitled to decisions based on well documented and understood legislation. And legislation that is not loaded with perks to buy support. Either it is a good bill or it is not. All the amendments simply amount to graft. This might be business as usual now but it doesn't have to be. Sandy Dameron Rotonda West, FL
