Remember the IRS scandal

Just because a story fades from the news doesn't mean it isn't still important or that things are not happening.

Such is the case with the IRS targeting of conservative groups. The IRS admitted that conservative applications for tax exempt status were overly burdened and delayed and that IRS supervisors in Washington DC knew about the practice. And we also understand that some applications that were approved were flagged for continued monitoring after the tax exempt status was granted. We know that the head of the Tax Exempt Application dept. was fired and that new guidelines are being developed. I feel certain that the buck will stop in Cincinnati. That seems to be how things work. Someone gets sacrificed and the story dies for lack of a provable link to higher ups in the chain of command. The President misses no chance to belittle, accuse, and malign conservative groups, a fact that could not be missed by even the most oblivious of government workers. If the order didn't come from the top, the attitude certainly did and ladder climbers from below saw an opportunity to get higher up the chain. Virginia Sparks Rotonda West, Fl
