Smashing a Cliché

You know, I remember hearing in some movie, or movies, during some kind of escape scene or whatever, where one character says to another, something like... "Hey, stick with me buddy! You're safe as in your mother's womb!"

Remembering that old cliché got me thinking... Just how safe IS that? Well, I did a little digging around and looked up the birth rates in Canada. Depending on the year, according to Statistics Canada (and they're a government organization, so we know they would never fudge any figures, right?) around 350,000 kids per year. Then, just to be the contrarian but inquisitive fella that I am, I looked up Canadian abortion figures. There are about 105,000 deliberately induced abortions annually, again depending on the year, that's nearly three hundred a day, not including miscarriages. That means that kids have about three chances in ten of being slaughtered before they're even born, here in the Great White North. Here are the stats so you can see for yourself. This proves a rather ironic thing... that statistically the womb is the single most dangerous place for a child to be in this country, or indeed, most places on Earth. Even in the middle of a war zone you'd likely have a better chance of survival. By the way, if you're a baby in the womb waiting to be born broke with government-caused debt and grow up to be overtaxed to pay for our slothfulness, stupidity and greed, the safest place in Canada to be is PEI with a "mere" one in ten chance of being killed by a doctor. You know, doctors are those nice people who get paid with our tax money and take some kind of an oath to do no harm. The worst (not surprisingly) is Quebec, our most socialized province, with about four chances in ten of getting dismantled alive and thrown in a waste bin. I think we need to think about that a bit more than we normally do. Or, have we lost ALL sense of decency and morality? By the way, it's estimated that the productive people in this country, whether you agree with abortion or not, pay more than an estimated 80 million dollars a year with our tax money, thanks to our socialist health "care" system for these murders, with each slaughter costing between $450 - $1,200. I wonder if any of those people wearing the "Proud Canadian" ball caps and T-shirts realize this? Do they care? Oh, and to make you feel even better, the American abortion rate is about 22%, somewhat lower than in Canada. So, we Canucks are slightly better at murdering our own children than Americans are, despite leftist media claims. Here's where I found that statistic: So, if you ever hear some guy tell you that they'll keep you as safe as in your mother's womb, you'd better run like hell and get as far away from him as possible.
