Sports reporters wanting to make the news

Regarding Don Cherry’s comment about women and the locker room

With all the swearing, nudity, and violence on TV today, people have become so desensitized that they no longer have any concept or understanding of modesty and common decency.

Sports reporters are primarily concerned about getting the “scoop” and enforcing their personally perceived “ equal rights” on others. They want to make the news - not report it - by getting players to make outlandishly rash comments while under duress and while still ruled by their passions. They are not concerned about morality or the religious rights of those whose wish to protect their modesty and privacy. As a matter of simple decency and respect, no reporter - male or female - should be allowed into a sports locker room which is essentially a “dressing room”. Reporters should be made to wait until all the players have dressed, left the room and had time to reflect on the game and gather their thoughts. Paul Kokoski
