MISSISSAUGA, ON, - RVR and Outlander sales have contributed to a buoyant September for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN), as MMSCAN dealerships nationwide reported strong increases. Monthly sales improved on a strong August 2011 by 67 units for a total of 1,733, up 28% year-over-year and making it second only to April 2011 as the best sales month of the year.
Truck sales continue to be healthy for Mitsubishi. The Endeavor enjoyed its best month since October 2005, Outlander sales were also strong (409 units) and RVR sales continue to percolate at 646 units, the model's second best month ever (April 2011 remains the best month at 682 units). This strong sales momentum comes as MMSCAN welcomes its new President and CEO, Mr. Shin Fujioka.

An experienced senior executive with more than 30 years of leadership roles with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Fujioka, 57, took charge on October 1, after his appointment by the Board of Directors of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. He comes to MMSCAN after a lengthy and distinguished career of ever-increasing responsibility with Mitsubishi Motor Corporation in Japan and various other postings within Mitsubishi worldwide. "Our focus is to continue to grow, develop and expand Mitsubishi by listening carefully to the wants and needs of the Canadian market," Fujioka said. "We have an excellent team at MMSCAN and a growing and committed dealer network. It is a winning combination that will continue to mark Mitsubishi as a company to watch as we prepare to launch the all electric i-MiEV and several other exciting new products over the next few years."
