Non-citizens voting rights

I am beside myself with frustration and anger over the idea that non-citizen would ever be allowed to vote within the United States anywhere at any time. If this were to be law, what I ask is the benefit of being a citizen? Is it the privilege of paying taxes to support this crazy system?

More and more the things that make citizenship something to be coveted are slipping away. And more and more citizens are disrespected while non-citizens are showered with benefits. What in the name of all that is fair and honest would make anybody think that every person who breaches our borders should have all the protections and rights that come with citizenship? Voting is both a right and a responsibility. It should not be awarded to every person residing within our borders. It certainly is not fair that the rest of us would have to live with the results of an election which is decided by states that allow non-citizens to vote. Why stop there? Send ballots to all of North America or, for that matter, the world. Thanks, New York, for another stupid idea. Jean Arcamone
