The American family – Know where you're lucky

Know where you're lucky. That’s a good phrase for those of us who still have a family these days. With so many horrors in the world, maybe we should be taking a better look at where we are right now. The American family unit is an outstanding place to be. The completed well adjusted American family unit is in many ways a nirvana unto itself. America is the result of its Constitutional genius, we exist in stark contrast to other areas of the world today.
In so many parts of the world family transgressions will not be forgiven. It's over, can fix it, and they are punished. Foreign family excitement can mean your loved one is being exterminated. Yet here in the U.S.A. family excitement can be had with tickets to a fun park. It’s the result of our Founders, the people who created America. And the rest of those who followed. Wow, aren’t we blessed? Yet with all of America’s wonderful wealth and security sometimes family life can get boring. Just remember there are tons of things to do, to # daily routine up a bit. But first off before we get started, remember: friendship makes a family. Restore and build on the friendship. Mutual projects go a long ways towards the restoration of a friendship. Pick a positive family based manic pursuit. There are tons of stuff you could dream up. Work toward a positive goal and make it big. Care about keeping yourselves together. Even with all that is going on around you, you'restill a team. Your children are your owners now. They don’t want to trade or swap either or any of you. This doesn't mean you have to turn into an old fuddy duddy over night. Older means the fun is actually better, because you know what you want, and for the most part, now, you can afford it. In regards to fun, know what people places and things are out of bounds, and when to say when. Do something exciting together. Remember those years while your children were growing up, hot dogging it and going for fun times that are still allowed!

Move forward as a family, your future is ahead, the grievances of the past are in the past. You can't live back there, so why would you want to return to it time and time again via present day behavior? Continuous regurgitation of the past can tarnish future accomplishments and or increase behavioral negatives, causing a snowball effect on the future. Families often have a cycle of in-fighting or recycled disagreements. This was evident with the family issued to me. The key to breaking the cycle is to admit there is one. Get a real diagnosis and break the cycle, and do it as a family. Honesty is the best policy, for both the parents and the kids. Hidden agendas are not allowed. Speak the truth. You know the truth, do not deviate from it. Tell the truth, because it's easier to remember. Finally we get to the ego, humility and forgiveness part of this communication. It is really what would have occurred had Lincoln lived, the reformation of the south, and, of course the potential for reformation of our families to extinguish all past, present and future familial grievances, exigent or otherwise. After all the goal in any family dispute is the cessation of grievances and hostilities via a logical course of action that either remedies the problem towards the best possible outcome or extinguishes it all together, in a way that generates healing and restores unity. Brilliant chaos requires a brilliant solution. This is why Americans love to go camping and boating, it’s a family thing. Keeps one squared with the world; parents and kids love it. They meet other parents and kids and have fun. Many of us have precious camping and boating memories, and I know there must have been similar camping stories and memories for some of you as well. Camping up in them thar hills! Where the critters are! You can find great solace and enlightenment interacting with nature and the lack of the hustle and bustle of the big American city. As kids we got to spend precious moments in Arizona’s Superstition Mountains, way back in the nineteen seventies. Great memories! Camping or recreation in the wilds as long as they aren't on fire or suffering pestilence is healing and a lot of fun too. These are just a few things to consider in the trying days ahead while we meditate or pray for other families around the world who suffer unmentionable horrors. How fortunate are we, who live in total freedom, able to move freely about in this great and wondrous country the United States of America. And of course our dear friends up in Canada. E.
