In August of this year, Eagles UP was proud to participate in an event that gave honor to the memory of New Jersey's Fallen Heroes during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. A group of 24 soldiers, led by MSGT. Beason's indomitable "can do" attitude, ran 140 miles, one mile for each soldier we have lost from the state. The run also raised over $16,000.00 for the Gold Star Mothers who are working toward erecting a monument to their sons and daughters in Washington DC.

For me, personally, they are both on my list of people I know who aren't family but I sure wish they were. "Chevy had a promotion where they encouraged people from all over the country to nominate friends or family members who, while in uniform, have demonstrated the military spirit of overcoming obstacles, inspiring others and positively impacting their country and community. Friends and family of the service members were asked to submit a video or written essay. Five finalists have been chosen for a public voting period where they will be asked to choose which story most inspires them. The promotion will culminate at the CMA Awards in Nashville, TN on November 11th when the winning service member and his or her family will attend the show and get the opportunity to meet Dale Earnhardt Jr. The awards will be broadcast live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov.11 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network. Christopher and I secretly sent in a video essay about Bubba...and we found out that he is one of the five finalists! So... Starting Monday and every day until October 22nd, you can go to youreverydayhero.com and vote!" Ok so it takes less than 5 minutes of your time once a day (or twice if you have more than one computer) and it takes less than that even to forward this to 10 friends and encourage them to vote for MSGT.
