Vulnerable citizens

In the real world, the people themselves have been trained to believe that they can not defend themselves and therefore need to be protected from the evil elements in our society.

The people have been taught to be very afraid of two things. First that they themselves are too weak to resist any kind of threat and secondly that only the state, police have the authority and the ability to handle such threats. On the other hand the police will not take action unless there has been an actual attack. They commonly say that it’s a threat only and that no law has been violated, hence, they are not able to do anything. After an attack has taken place the police show up in varying response times, overly armed, overly manned, overly trained to act as if a war is taking place and placing the area citizens in more potential danger and needless fear of being invaded. If we as citizens are subject to danger from deranged individuals the we need to be able to defend ourselves until the threat has been resolved by being able to fend off an attacker in one of several ways. If the people are known to have means to defend themselves and have the will to defend themselves, the likelihood of a threat is already diminished by the fact that anyone who has an evil inclination will be deterred by the knowledge that they will be met with equal force to stop an act of violence before they can act or are stopped in the commission of the act. Most aggressors are discouraged in any attempt to harm or steal if they are likely to meet with the threat to themselves of being hurt or killed in the process. Would-be aggressors by and large are cowards to begin with and do not have sufficient will to commit a crime if they are in danger of being personally hurt in the process. If it is well known that people have the right to carry means of self-defense and the attempt to do harm may result in their death or being disabled, then all but the mentally deranged will continue to take further action. If the aggressor is mentally unbalanced and starts to commit harmful acts, the armed citizen has the ability to stop them from committing further harm if they are prepared to use a defensive weapon at their disposal. If there are several armed citizens in the area it is likely that one of them will take action. That likely action will stop a crime in progress and will stop completion of any further harm. All of this being done by responsible people until the police can arrive and take the criminal into custody. Most of the citizens are responsible people who have the maturity to deal with criminals. As long as the number of responsible people outnumber the irresponsible people then order will be maintained by the nature of those in the majority, given the ability to carry means of defense. Stopping a crime before it happens is most important, stopping a crime in progress is important, stopping someone who is trying to kill others is mandatory. If the citizen has no means to slow an aggressor from committing their evil intent until the police can show up then the citizenry will be vulnerable at all times. Richard Frank Wagoner OK
