Then comes along premier Wynne who went full speed ahead building more expensive unneeded wind & solar power along with more gas power plants to back up this unreliable power then we find out some people who attended the cash for access events were being rewarded with wind and solar contracts while this was going on we were overproducing hydro to the extent we had to pay other jurisdiction to take our power off our grid or they got it for pennies a kWh or free then the liberals started to pay wind & solar farms not to produce power because of our excess supply of hydro and now premier Wynne is phasing out three natural gas plants and will be paying Atlantic power corporation for non-produced hydro til the end of their contracts the Nipigon plant gets paid til the end of Oct 2018 the North Bay & Kapuskasing plants get paid til the end of Dec 2017 then we paid for 25 OPG workers to babysit the closed Nanticoke coal plant for years. We also continue to divert water at our hydroelectric dams and run a biomass hydro plant at 25 x the cost of other biomass plants and another biomass plant only produces hydro for 29 days a year so there is no need to wonder why we will continue to live in energy poverty in Ontario.
