Bill Gates Slams Unreliable Wind & Solar: ‘Let’s Quit Jerking Around With Renewables & Batteries’

When the world’s richest entrepreneur says wind and solar will never work, it’s probably time to listen.

Bill Gates made a fortune applying common sense to the untapped market of home computing. The meme has it that IBM’s CEO believed there was only a market for five computers in the entire world. Gates thought otherwise. Building a better system than any of his rivals and shrewdly working the marketplace, resulted in hundreds of millions hooked on PCs, Windows and Office. This is a man that knows a thing or two about systems and a lot about what it takes to satisfy the market.—More….

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is one of many Democrats trying to backtrack on their original defense of “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett.

On Jan. 29, Pelosi joined many others and took to Twitter to issue a strong defense of Smollett, who claimed that he was physically assaulted in Chicago by two men in ski masks who poured bleach on him, put a rope around his neck like a noose, and yelled, “This is MAGA country.”—More…

CNN Actually Tries To Defend El Chapo From Senator Ted Cruz’s Plan To Use Drug Lord’s Mo

CNN is a disgusting mess. Just when you think they can’t possibly go any lower they manage to do just that. This time it was the news network’s passive aggressive pushback against Senator Ted Cruz’s brilliant idea to utilize the billions convicted drug kingpin El Chapo amassed to help pay for the southern border wall. El Chapo has contributed to countless murders, drug deaths, human trafficking, and on and on and on yet CNN would take his side over President Trump’s desire to better protect U.S. citizens from animals like El Chapo.

And good on Senator Crus for telling El Chapo’s attorney (and CNN) to pound sand. —More…

New York Times: Trump’s Border Reforms Are Working

One-third of the 6,000 migrants who reached the border just in the November caravan have given up their effort to cross the border, the Times says: “Data from Mexican officials suggested that harsh policies he has introduced to crack down on asylum seekers may already be achieving some of its intended effects.”

The article by the establishment outlet is important because it validates Trump’s analysis and proposed fixes for the growing problem of cheap-labor migration. For example, the article shows that Trump’s critics admit his policies are working: “It may look like it’s working in the short term,” Ms. [Michelle] Brané said, “But I don’t think it’s a long-term solution. It’s driving people further into the shadows and that’s exactly the opposite of what we [pro-migation groups] want.”—More…

$1.7 Million in Methamphetamine Seized at Texas Border Crossing

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized 86 pounds of methamphetamine estimated to be worth more than $1.7 million during two separate vehicles inspections. The seizures occurred on Wednesday at two different ports of entry in Laredo, Texas. The alleged seizures resulted in the arrests of two Mexican nationals on drug smuggling charges.

In the first incident, CBP officers assigned to the Office of Field Operations (OFO) contacted a male driver in a 2010 Ford Focus at the Gateway to the Americas International Bridge. Officers referred the driver to a secondary examination station where a K-9 drug detection officer detected the possible presence of drugs, according to information obtained from CBP officials. The officers also carried out a non-intrusive inspection. After the K-9 alerted to an odor it has been trained to detect, CBP officers discovered three packages containing a total of 63 pounds of alleged methamphetamine within the vehicle. Officers arrested the driver and identified him as a 21-year-old male and Mexican citizen who resides in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.—More…
