Cardinal Müller issues Manifesto: A quasi correction of Pope Francis’ pontificate

February – Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the former head of the Vatican’s doctrinal office, has released a Manifesto which reads like a correction of many of the doctrinal errors Pope Francis has taught during his tenure as Pope.

The cardinal’s intention was to release the manifesto on February 10. That date is the eve of the anniversary of Pope Benedict’s announcement in 2013 that he would abdicate his papal office, as well as the eve of the cardinal’s own ordination to the priesthood. However, a Polish website broke the embargo and thus the document is being released today.—More…

Ocasio-Cortez adviser admits he falsely claimed Green New Deal didn’t promise security for those ‘un

A top adviser to New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has admitted that an official “Green New Deal” document posted by Ocasio-Cortez’s office contained a guarantee of economic security even for those “unwilling to work”—but not before he went viral in progressive circles for claiming the exact opposite, repeatedly, in an interview with Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Cornell University Law School Professor Robert Hockett, who counsels Ocasio-Cortez on environmental initiatives, challenged host Tucker Carlson when he quoted from an outline and list of “frequently asked questions” (FAQ) that had been posted on Ocasio-Cortez’s official website. The FAQ was also shared with NPR.—More…

Behind the Scenes, It’s Clear Chicago Media and Police Doubt Jussie Smollett’s Story

I can’t recall a large crime story where there was a bigger gap between what the police and media are saying publicly, and what they expressing behind the scenes, than the saga involving the recent alleged hate crime against actor Jussie Smollett. Similarly, there may not be a story where you can tell more by what has not happened, in comparison to what actually has occurred.

The current public stance of the Chicago police is that earlier this month, at 2 a.m. on a very cold Chicago night, Smollett was the victim of what appears to be a heinous hate crime where he was physically attacked by two men, and humiliated due to his race, homosexuality, and possibly his opposition to President Donald Trump. The Chicago media, in official reports, has largely treated that narrative as legitimate, while chronicling the complete lack of suspects and corroborating evidence as more of a frustration than any indication that something else might be going on here.—More….

Socialist Protesting Venezuela’s Maduro: ‘I Don’t Have Food with Which to Defend t

A 70-year-old socialist in Venezuela told the Agence France-Presse (AFP) in a report Friday he wants to defend the “Revolution” but is too hungry to do so, leading to his daily protests against dictator Nicolás Maduro.

Omar Monroy has taken to chaining himself to the basilica in Barquisimeto, northwest Venezuela, for eight hours a day to demand that Maduro step down. While he defends the principles of socialism, he says that Maduro’s government has become so corrupt that the system cannot properly function, hence the widespread food and medicine shortages. Monroy still expresses loyalty to Hugo Chávez, the late dictator who brought socialism to Venezuela and similarly used repressive tactics to ensure he would spend the rest of his life in power.—More….

‘Green New Deal’ Excludes LGBTQ Americans

The “Green New Deal” introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) last Thursday dwells on the plight of various oppressed groups, but somehow fails to mention lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Americans.

The “Green New Deal” legislation asserts that

climate change, pollution, and environmental destruction have exacerbated systemic racial, regional, social, environmental, and economic injustices (referred to in this preamble as ‘‘systemic injustices’’) by disproportionately affecting indigenous peoples, communities of color, migrant communities, deindustrialized commu- nities, depopulated rural communities, the poor, low-income workers, women, the elderly, the unhoused, people with disabilities, and youth (referred to in this preamble as ‘‘frontline and vulnerable communities’’);—MORE….

Pelosi Tweets About Protecting ‘God’s Creation.’ Nikki Haley Dunks On Her

On Friday, responding to the ludicrous tweet from abortion champion and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Thursday saying she was concerned about “God’s creation” and “generations to come,” former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley ripped Pelosi on Twitter, stating, “Does God’s creation not include protecting babies as well Madame Speaker? A committee on that issue would be welcome.”

Pelosi’s tweet was celebrating the inception of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, which was established in January when the Democrats gained control of the House of Representatives. Pelosi had tweeted on Thursday, “We have a moral responsibility to protect God’s creation for generations to come. That is why today, we named members to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. #ActOnClimate.”
